The Bowery Hotel excels across the board without being ostentatious. The lobby is a welcoming space with several options on solo or group seating. The staff is first rate across the board - everyone. The rooms are a bit of a throwback to when things were done with care, craft and high quality. They think of a lot of the essentials you need. The lower East Side has its own cool vibe but if you want to venture further, it is a close walk to several subway lines. One, if not, the best hotel in NYC.

Staff was amazing! They ran behind on inspecting our room and comped our breakfast and drinks. The bed itself was so comfortable and the room was spacious for a NYC hotel which matters as a woman with a bunch of luggage. Restrooms were cute and charming, I was so sad the iconic bears were out of stock but that just means I’ll have to stay here again. Highly recommend! Another perk is the bikes and reserved seating for guests at the restaurant in the lobby.

We had a great room with views ‘just of nyc’ but made for great people watching & insights to the weather, which was quite awesome too. Staff could not have been sweeter & graciously received parcels sent for us. Cool lobby spaces to chill. We enjoyed the Coffee Project on E 5th better than the connected resto.. For the amount of activity at the hotel it was rather quiet. The rhino in the room was cool as was the spacious bathroom. Russ & Daughters and Win Son bakery close was awesome. Will def stay there again!

Photographing weddings at The Bowery Hotel is always a favorite. The space feels quintessentially old New York in the best way - warm brick, iron details, chic lounge spaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows that let in the most beautiful natural light all day long. There are endless classic NYC photo opportunities both inside the hotel and right outside its doors (vintage taxi anyone?) The on-site team is truly wonderful to work with, especially Sabrina, the events director, who keeps everything organized while making the day feel effortless for both couples and vendors. The Bowery is also incredibly flexible, with multiple indoor and outdoor spaces that make for great rain plans. The patio is a standout for cocktail hour - spacious, lively, and full of great views. The spacious getting ready suites also have beautiful terraces for photos and lots of space for photos. And of course... lovely hospitality to include the Bowery Bear in guest rooms - he's so cute! If you’re looking for an iconic NYC wedding venue, you have to tour The Bowery Hotel!

I had the most appalling experience at the Bowery Hotel bar that completely missed the mark on hospitality. After purchasing drinks, I was denied a place to sit (!) or to stand (!) by their racist and intimidating two members of the staff. I was treated in a manner that was rude, dismissive, and frankly intimidating. The staff showed no interest in resolving the situation or offering even a basic explanation. Instead, the attitude was cold and disrespectful, as if my presence was an inconvenience rather than business they had chosen to accept. This is not how a hotel of this reputation should treat paying guests. I’ve both stayed with them before as well as had drinks at their bar as a walk in and was never told that that only their hotel guests are allowed to have a spot at the lobby. Both me and my friend were targeted based on racial basis. There’s a difference between enforcing policies and alienating customers. Courtesy costs nothing, yet it was entirely absent here. For a venue that trades so heavily on atmosphere and prestige, the service fell far below acceptable standards. I won’t be returning, and I would caution others not to expect professionalism or basic respect. (Served by Janio).
