Under the radar but almost a perfect stay. A rare hotel that stays with you. I felt this way about the St. Regis (NY). The Beekman had the same effect. Highly recommended if you're thinking about staying downtown. Very comfortable room. Superior staff. Good vibes all around.

My hubby and I recently did a staycation at The Beekman, and it was the perfect mini getaway. Our building in NYC is undergoing renovations and we needed to be out of our apartment for two days. So we checked in on Sunday and stayed through Tuesday. It is the perfect time to be at The Beekman which is typically packed on the weekends. The hotel is absolutely stunning, beautifully designed, incredibly picturesque, and full of old New York charm that makes you feel like you've stepped into another era. The rooms are highly stylized, and the staff is genuinely friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. We requested a room on a higher floor (we were on the 8th floor), which helped us avoid much of the city noise from the streets and restaurants below. The views and perspectives of the hotel from the upper floors are visually stunning and really allow you to appreciate the architecture. After dropping our bags at the hotel around noon, we headed straight out to explore. We walked through City Hall Park. I love the historic lamp posts, the fountain, and shaded pathways. We then hiked it across the West Side Highway to Brookfield Place. For lunch, we stopped at P.J. Clarke's. The burgers and fries are excellent, and the outdoor seating offers great waterfront views. After lunch, we spent some time shopping at Brookfield Place. My husband checked out the Omega watch store, while I browsed Warby Parker and a few clothing stores. We wrapped up our visit with a beer at Sixpoint, though there are plenty of great spots nearby if you're looking for a cocktail with a view of the water. Once we received the notification that our room was ready, we walked back toward the hotel and stopped at Liberty Park which is a small elevated park that offers stunning views of the 9/11 memorial. After settling into our room, we headed to dinner at Le Gratin, located right next door to the hotel. This is Daniel Boulud's Alsatian French restaurant, and the meal was delicious, though definitely on the pricey side. I had a bit of sticker shock, even as a New Yorker. My other gripe was that the bread wasn't great, which is surprising for a French restaurant. However, the ambiance, the onion soup and the giant potato gratin we ate made the experience worth it. We ended the evening at The Bar Room at The Beekman. We arrived around 9 p.m., and it was surprisingly quiet. The atmosphere is magical, and they serve dessert and coffee, which made for the perfect way to end the night. The next morning, we headed to Fraunces Tavern for lunch and did the museum tour, which focused on George Washington and early American history. From there, we stopped into The Dead Rabbit for an Irish coffee and then checked out The Elevated Acre, one of Lower Manhattan's hidden gems. Afterward, we strolled along Stone Street and Wall Street before heading back toward the hotel. For dinner, we went to Da Claudio on Ann Street. The pasta was excellent, and it was the perfect cozy neighborhood spot to unwind after a full day of exploring. To cap off our stay, we returned to The Bar Room at The Beekman for one last nightcap. If you're looking to explore Downtown NYC, The Beekman is a great spot. It delivers the perfect combination of luxury, history, great dining, and easy access to some of Lower Manhattan's best attractions.

I stayed two nights at The Beekman and unfortunately had a frustrating experience from check-in to checkout. Check-in started by having us wait 10 minutes despite there being no line. Just staff typing into a computer with us waiting awkwardly in front. Staff were present but busier with other things. The main issue was the bathroom. On night two, our shower had green water pooling on the floor and the sink ran brown (photos attached). We called three times over 20 plus minutes before anyone responded, and no solution was offered while we waited. This happened at 8 pm, right after a night run, before we were supposed to be having dinner with friends. We ended up having to change our dinner plans because there was no time to clean up after a workout. The manager confirmed there was nothing he could, and said the only thing he could offer was some points after the incident. No solutions. When maintenance did come, there was no confirmation the shower had been properly cleaned, no bottled water replaced. This was something I had to follow up and ask to get the shower cleaned. Small gestures that cost the hotel nothing, like a follow-up call, a bottle of water, or a clean room confirmation, would have gone a long way. None happened. For resolution, the hotel offered 21,000 points, less than the cost of a single night. For what was a documented sanitation issue, that did not feel like a serious response. The GM was courteous but said it was the most he could authorize. The Beekman is a genuinely beautiful hotel and I have recommended it to people before. This stay did not reflect the property's reputation or the standard I would expect at a hotel of this caliber.

Stayed for 3 nights around NYE. It was clean, comfortable & the hotel shared areas are gorgeous. Staff was very kind. The room itself was pretty general. The thing that was absolutely wild was that the fire alarm went off at least 3 times, if not more, on New Years night starting around 5:30AM. My friends, who were staying longer than we were, said this happened another night before, so clearly they were having issues with the alarm system.

My wife has declared this is the only hotel we are allowed to stay at from now on when we visit Manhattan. Amazing ambiance and interior design. Everything was both classy and classic. There is almost no need to go anywhere else because the restaurant and the bar onsite are top tier (we didn’t try the French bistro, but we will next time). Location is better than you might think, with easy access to the subway if you want to explore the rest of the city. We took the Airtrain from JFK and it only required 400 feet of walking, it was awesome. We’ve stayed here before in one of the smaller rooms, but upgrading to a corner suite made for an even more enjoyable experience, definitely worth it. We will be back!
