first time staying in a hostel & will definitely do it again! only a 8-10 minute walk from multiple subway stations, making it super easy to travel amongst the city. I got back to the hostel around 9:00pm-11:00pm every night & never felt scared/nervous walking. area is well lit. for this price & location it is definitely worth it!

I stayed here towards the end of October while visiting a friend in Brooklyn—and of course for the thrift shop experience. I loved the graffiti walls; they really gave the place cool, creative vibes. I’d recommend the four-bed dorms. It was easy to make friends, but overall the hostel has a nice, low-key atmosphere. Having a bathroom in the dorm was also very convenient. Staff are friendly and the dude working at night with the hat is a G and is helpful! The free tea and coffee was brilliant and a lovely amenity. Location is good too! The only thing to note is to be a bit cautious walking around the area after 9pm, as it can feel a little uneasy—but if you’re with a friend or take an Uber, it’s absolutely fine.

Spacious & clean rooms, tons of good common areas, convenient location, lots of good food options nearby. Loved having a larger bed rather than a twin. Only complaint was WiFi was a little spotty but sorted itself out quickly!

I had a positive experience here, primarily because the location is excellent for exploring the city (4 stars). The rooms were standard for a hostel stay (3 stars), though the service was a bit more basic (2 stars). It’s a great, high-rated base for travelers prioritizing location and a solid room.

I’ve stayed in a a lot of hostels and come to NY often. This hostel is very mid as far as amenities and atmosphere, but I like staying here due to the overall low key vibe and quiet location. The rooms are pretty decent and not overcrowded. However, I have to say that the hospitality is very poor. I usually arrive at night and the guy with the NY hat is laughably unfriendly. He will not greet you, make it seem like you are bothering him for checking in and offer zero info about the hostel or any interest in general. Seriously it’s a hostel and guests should not be made to feel unwelcome. Kitchen is nice but could use some newer pots/pans and plates
