Pro: Modern hotel. Huge lower lobby area for dining and hanging our. Comes in handy since the rooms are on the smaller end Rooftop bar have amazing view! A MUST see. Amazing rainfall shower. Bedding very comfortable. Con: Room is small but meet all my needs. The sink is in the hall. The bathroom and shower is in the hall studio style. The only complain i have is lack of blackout curtin! Even with the night curtain down, too much daylight comes in for my taste. Overall: wonderful stay. Willdefinitely come back.
This is my second time staying at a citizenM (the other being in London) and I was really happy with the experience! The rooms are on the smaller side, but they’re thoughtfully designed and for trips that you don’t intend on spending much time in your room, the price savings are really worth it. Everything was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. I also really enjoyed the common areas in the hotel— there is a downstairs and a rooftop bar and both are great. The hotel is in a perfect location too. Would absolutely stay here again!
citizenM New York Bowery is one of the coolest hotel experiences I’ve had in the city. From the moment you walk into the lobby, the vibe feels modern, energetic, and welcoming — like a space that was designed with both comfort and style in mind. The first thing you notice is how thoughtfully designed and functional everything is. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for New York standards, and the layout makes smart use of every inch. The tech features — like the oversized digital controls for lights, blinds, and temperature — make everything feel effortless and tailored to your comfort. What really sets citizenM apart is the atmosphere. The lobby/lounge area doubles as a social space, with cozy seating, contemporary art, and a buzzing energy that’s perfect for meeting friends, relaxing after a long day, or even getting a bit of work done. There’s always good music, and somehow it strikes the perfect balance between vibrant and relaxing. The beds are incredibly comfortable — a big plus after long days exploring the city — and blackout curtains ensure you can sleep in even after sunrise. The cleanliness and attention to detail throughout the hotel also stand out; everything feels fresh and well maintained. Staff are friendly and genuinely helpful, offering great tips for local food, nightlife, and sights. The location in the Bowery is excellent too — close to SoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown, and great dining options, so getting around is super easy. Overall, citizenM New York Bowery delivers a modern, stylish, and comfortable stay with an unbeatable social vibe. Perfect for solo travelers, couples, or anyone who wants a hotel experience that feels both fun and functional.
This is the coolest hotel I've ever stayed in and I've traveled a lot. The rooms are cozy, but cool. Perfect for the solo traveler, or a honeymooning couple who love close proximity to each other. The onsite bars were very nice, with the rooftop lounge being amazing at night. The small bites menu upstairs was small and there wasn't anything that appealed to me, but the menu at the bar downstairs varies from chicken dumplings, to falafel salad to pizzas. I really wished there was a burger on the menu tho! But, other than that one little thing, my stay was perfect. I will absolutely stay here again!
The highlight for me were the stylish and modern art in the lobby area along with the music and the general atmosphere. The decor and vibe of the rooms was also very modern and very comfortable despite the size. The breakfast was great and they had a nice rooftop also. The only negative (very slight annoyance): when in the lobby, I got asked several times if I had a room and what my room number was. I was on a call one of the times and they came up in the middle to ask me for my room number . I wish they had a better system to only let guests in but this felt suboptimal and slightly annoying.
