We have been here a few times to see live music. We (my husband and I) went last night to see Molly Tuttle & Maggie Rose. We enjoyed it. BE PREPARED TO STAND THE ENTIRE 3--3 1/2 HRS!!!There is little to no seating... so be aware of this. You have to go up two flights of stairs to get upstairs, for the ONLY seating which is ONLY 3 benchs, each about 6 ft long. Then you can look down about 16 ft to the first floor and stage. There are both men and women's bathrooms upstairs and down. The upstairs women's has two nice large stalls, and was very clean. (I don't remember the downstairs bathroom as I didn't use it this time.) Also, upstairs got very cold. The music and singing/voices sound good also in there. They, of course, serve drinks, mixed & beers.
Bruce Daigrapoint and his Cajun band is outstanding! He brings lots of emotion and energy to his songs. See him perform on most Sundays starting at 5:15pm. Great open dance floor to dance and enjoy. Great place to have a great time!
Had a great time celebrating my wifes birthday at this iconic club. We saw Eggy open for Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. Both bands were great. Sound was top notch. Staff was pleasannt as well as the audience. Was one of the highlights of our trip to New Orleans. Probably holds 1500-2000 people No seats. Grneral admission. We were upstairs on the balcony
As much as the music, I loved the crowd here. Tipitina's is the place you go for the love of the music. The crowd is a cross section of all ages that come together to dance, listen and enjoy. We listened to an hour of Zita opening for Flow Tribe. A very fun evening! Would definitely recommend.
Great time!! I wish the house band had played longer. Somehow a dull sounding rapper that took their place was a letdown
