The second we pulled up we were greeted by helpful smiling friendly faces. The hotel is large, historically restored, and beautiful. Large awning keeps the rain at bay. The gentlemen greeting you are knowledgeable, funny, patient, and kind! They really made the days start off right!!! The trolley station is literally in front of the hotel, which was such a bonus. This hotel is one of a kind. From the art work, to the absolutely INCREDIBLE staff-we couldnt of been more pleased. Downstairs is a great jazz bar with delicious local spirits. Upstairs is a 21+bar but was more like a club. With all that going on, the room was still very quiet. The room was one of our favorites. Velvet rich couch, feather comforters, unique artwork, plenty of space! We had soooo much fun and did we mention how wonderful the staff was-because they were top notch. We did not have any complaints, only compliments and praises! Keep up the high standards, big hearts, and wonderful times!!! You guys are awesome🥳

Great place! I’ve come s as brunch for the Hot Tin, but never stayed until now. As soon as I pulled up Tre helped me at the valet. Great guy with great recommendations. He is an asset to the company. Dabriella at the front desk was awesome. She made me feel extremely welcome. At the Hot Tin I love Jake, Daisy, and Damien. This is a must stay in NOLA.

If you want a New Orleans stay that feels like an experience—not just a place to sleep—Pontchartrain Hotel is absolutely it. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by eclectic, thoughtfully curated art that gives the entire hotel a personality of its own. Every space feels intentional, creative, and a little unexpected—in the best way. It’s classic New Orleans charm mixed with a bold, artsy vibe that makes you want to explore every corner. The food and drink options alone make this hotel worth the stay. From cozy, stylish dining spaces to the iconic rooftop at Hot Tin, there’s something for every mood. The rooftop views are incredible, and the cocktails are just as memorable—fun, creative, and perfectly crafted. It’s one of those places where you can easily spend your whole evening without ever leaving the hotel. The rooms carry that same unique character—comfortable, inviting, and full of charm with just the right mix of vintage and modern touches. And the service truly ties it all together. The staff is warm, personable, and makes you feel instantly welcome, adding to the overall vibe that this place is something special. Between the art, the atmosphere, and the standout food and drink scene, the Pontchartrain isn’t just a hotel—it’s part of the New Orleans experience. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

4 star?! Nawwwwrrrr. Maybe 20 years ago.. the rooms are past their prime, dingy & dated. There was a pair of someone else’s underwear in my dresser lol. The elevators were broken every other day, felt normal. Sadly, the staff comes off as tired and over it. Highlight of the hotel is Bayou Bar & Jack Rose, hands down. We were unfortunately here during a city wide “boil water” notice so there was no safe tap water available. We were offered tiny bottles of water at the front desk. I was given unnecessary attitude on Tuesday am for asking for a few extra bottles. ( I asked for 5) NO RUNNING WATER and this girl gave me shade for asking for clean water to brush my teeth and wash my hands with? Wow. When we later checked out and needed to store our luggage for the afternoon, the same front desk girl (Tuesday am shift) let our luggage sit out to st least 5 min while she complained to another staffer. After a while we asked if she would be storing it away for us somewhere safe (full of professional camera gear) and she said “ya when I I’m done here” referring to her personal convo.

Running on reputation and history. The Pontchartrain Hotel is a Three star hotel with Five star pricing. Do not pay peak pricing. The location is excellent, the bars & restaurants are great, but the rooms are screaming for repairs, upgrades, and deep cleanings. Next year is the 100th birthday of this Hotel. The owners need to give her the love & respect she deserves for a property of her age & reputation. Until then, don't pay over $125 a night, definitely don't pay peak pricing.
