We had a wonderful stay at the Eliza Jane, and two employees truly stood out during our visit. Devon, the bellman, was incredibly kind and accommodating — he gladly held our luggage both before check-in and after checkout while we explored and did some shopping before leaving. He was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Orrione at the front desk was also absolutely fantastic. She was warm, welcoming, and took time to recommend places for us to see and things to do while visiting New Orleans, which we really appreciated. She also made sure we received the complimentary wooden drink tokens included with the destination fee, which was such a fun touch. Both of them helped make our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!
We live close to New Orleans and frequent the area often. We tend to try out different hotels and have been eyeing the Eliza Jane for quite some time. We were severely disappointed in our stay. First, it is ridiculous not to alert guests to major construction at the hotel that affects the main amenities. We were staying for a birthday, and one of the main reasons we booked this hotel was because we heard great things about the bar. When we checked in, we received a handout informing us that the bar and lobby were closed. I work in construction, and I understand it must be done, but to choose not to inform your guests until check-in is nearly fraudulent. Just a quick email would have sufficed; that way, guests can determine if they still want to stay at the property during renovations. Not to mention the early-morning construction that took place each day of our stay, even on Memorial Day, before 8 am. Moreover, room service failed to visit us during our entire stay. I try not to ever comment on customer service (we all have bad days), but we really felt unwelcome here. We hardly got a hello at the front desk. Not what you expect from an Autograph Collection hotel. Lastly, we had to go through the kitchen to reach the elevators and our room due to construction. When we got on the elevator on the first day, we were a little confused about whether we needed to head to floor 4 or floor 4r. Instead of helping us, the staff member in the elevator pressed every button to make us visit each floor. It was just bizarre. Really felt like we were being punked. I usually love an Autograph collection, but this one really let us down.
The Eliza Jane is hands down one of the most STUNNING hotels I have ever stayed at. From the second you walk through the doors, you’re immediately hit with the most incredible scent throughout the entire building — I honestly wish I knew what fragrance they use because I would absolutely buy it for my home. Beyond the smell, the ambiance is simply breathtaking. The entire hotel has this chic, luxurious, relaxing atmosphere while still feeling warm and inviting. You can truly feel the history of the building being a former printing house, and the architecture and decor are jaw-dropping. Every corner felt thoughtfully designed and absolutely beautiful. The courtyard is GORGEOUS and feels like a hidden oasis in the middle of the city. The fitness center was also incredibly impressive — spacious, spotless, and equipped with everything you could need. The location could not have been more perfect. I loved being able to walk everywhere and explore the city easily. As a solo traveler, I also felt very safe and comfortable during my stay, which meant a lot to me. And the BED… absolutely a dream. One of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. Between the comfort, cleanliness, atmosphere, and overall experience, The Eliza Jane completely exceeded my expectations. I already cannot wait to come back to New Orleans just to stay here again
The hotel is in a lovely location. The bartender seemed a little put out with serving people. You get two free drink tokens which are good for a pre-mixed cocktail. And I ordered room service. Steak Frites for over $80 and listen the food was good. But it came in cardboard with plastic utensils. I didht expect a dinner cart with a cloche but an actual fork and knife would have been great.
The room was clean and large, especially compared to many hotels in New Orleans. The hotel had a great atmosphere and cocktail bar. My wife and I both had a Sazerac and it was our favorite sazerac during our whole trip. They had a nice outdoor courtyard to relax in. The hotel felt like a boutique hotel with unique paint choices, plush carpets and vibrant finishes. The only negative I had was that the window for the room faced the interior of the building but that wasn't a big deal for us.
