oh my goodness - i had the best meal of my entire life. i am vegetarian and from out of town so i don’t usually have vegan restaurants that can make GOOD soul food. i walked in and was immediately welcomed by kind women, and was given amazing service as i ordered. they have a different pick of options every day, and was so grateful to get there on a wednesday. i got okra jumbo, jambalaya, sweet yams, COLLARED GREENS, mac and cheese and a huge piece of corn bread all for less than 25 dollars. i would come back in town just to eat at this place again, and was so happy to eat the food i grew up with for the first time in forever.

The orange cauliflower is soooo good! Absolutely recommend it’s really amazing! The staff were friendly and there’s plenty of seating inside available. It’s a buffet style set up where you choose a certain number of options with one being the main one and you pay for that size. The cauliflower and the red beans were incredible like so tasty!! Sadly I didn’t like the mac n cheese it was sweet for some reason? It was like sugar or a sweetener had been added, it wasn’t nice at all, I’m from England and didn’t want to offend them as maybe that’s how it’s made in Nashville? It was weird though I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re not used to sugar in your food, oh and the cornbread is far too sweet too, but again I’d never tried cornbread before so maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be?! That’s why I’ve still given 5 stars, next time I’m in NOLA I’m going back and I’ll ask someone to help me with what to try but absolutely will be back for the cauliflower and to try the bread pudding!

We went out of our way to go to this place while staying in The French Quarter and I am so glad we did! My partner and I got the sweet heat cauliflower, jambalaya, okra gumbo, cashew mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, cornbread, and some mango pineapple juice. The staff were all so friendly and the prices were so reasonable, especially compared to a lot of the places closer to our hotel in The Quarter! We got lunch AND dinner to take back with us for less than $40. So so glad that we went out to try their delicious food! Cannot recommend enough! :)

I stopped through here in passing going to Texas coming from NC and it was the best stop I ever made. I’m the only vegan in my house hold and my babies tore this food up. Everything was sooo good and the portions were large. I don’t remember what I spent but I’m sure it was worth every penny. I forgot to write a review months ago when I came because, I just found this spot in passing, but had the photo of the food with the location on it. I love this spot real bad and will now make an intentional trip to eat here and the surrounding spots if any. The corn bread and dirty rice were to die for!!!!!!

Fire 🔥. First time trying vegan food and it was amazing. Good change of pace. That fried cauliflower with the orange sauce and shepherds pie are a 10 out of 10. Portion sizes were great and at an affordable price, and the food is very filling. If you had wanted to try vegan food this is the spot to be. The staff were very friendly as well.
