My husband and I had our first tasting menu experience at this restaurant. I had booked it as a surprise for his birthday, and it turned out to be an incredible decision. The restaurant is cozy and intimate, and the staff is incredibly attentive. They take care of everything, from taking your coats to seating you at a table with a birthday card already placed. They even fill your glass with water without you having to ask. I’m a picky eater, so I was a bit confused when some of the dishes were introduced because of the unusual flavor combinations. But boy, was I impressed! Every single meal was delicious, with every element thoughtfully considered. The steak, in particular, was the best I’ve ever had. I have never had a piece of meat melt in my mouth before. All the dishes were a perfect balance of textures, colors, brightness, acidity, sweetness, and salt. The portion sizes were also just right, so I didn’t feel too full at the end of the meal, but I still got a good enough bite to taste every flavor. The only thing that could have improved the experience was the dessert. It was a bit lacking in comparison to the rest of the menu. Overall, although it was an expensive meal, it was a 10/10 experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable dining experience.
Incredible dinner and service! I've had a number of tasting menus and Saint-Germain was a standout. It is located in a very unassuming building that you could easily mistake for a home. The interior is a refreshing blend of cozy and modern style leaving you feel very comfortable. There is no set expectations for dress, and while I think this more of a place to go for a special occasion or treat, you can feel at ease with how relaxed everything is. The staff is very friendly and attentive, providing excellent service. The dinner begins at the bar and transitions into the main dining area, which is fun. All of the food and pairings are well thought out and the servers and sommolier are very knowledgeable. Everything was delicious, my favorite being the duck schnitzel and my wife's being the cheese souffle. Like Amy other places, they provide you with a menu at the end to keep as well as some small treat, including butter mints made from their house made buttermilk which is so cool. This was one of my favorite meals and I cannot recommend coming in for a meal enough. It is expensive, as many tasting menus can be, but 100% worth it.
I had an incredible dinner at Saint-Germain last night and their new Michelin star is truly earned. The tasting menu was exceptional, from the Parmesan Broth and Kaluga Caviar with Potato to the Hokkaido Scallop, the Lobster with Brown Butter, and the perfectly cooked Squab. I had the wine pairing, including a beautiful Brut Rosé Champagne, and every pour elevated the experience. I also received a truffle surprise that was unforgettable. The Cheese Soufflé and the Rice, Coconut, Sichuan dessert were the perfect finish. Service was warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful experience. I look forward to being back.
Maybe I expected too much, but I didn’t find the flavors to be particularly original or well-balanced. It was 700 dollars for the two of us, I expected to be mind blown lol. That said, their Sichuan peppercorn dessert was genuinely creative and stood out.
Everything about the service and meal was perfection. I loved the experience of moving from bar to dining room, it represented a really nice split in the service, it gave me time to chat with the bartenders and workout a perfect cocktail for my husband, it’s just an ideal configuration. The food was incredibly well balanced with regard to flavor, consistency, etc… it was all so intentional, balanced, and flawlessly executed. I left thinking to myself sure, I’ve seen better micro green/flower work, perhaps more technical dessert work, but I think St Germain is the best overall meal I have ever had.
