Small club with regular New Orleans jazz performances [instrumental and vocal]. Cozy theater seats maybe 50-60 people for 45 minute shows. In very historical building. It's really world famous. Not to be missed! (No photos or video allowed during show)
What an authentic NOLA jazz experience. No photos or video allowed during the show which allows for a present and intentional experience. A didn’t plan ahead and snagged standing tickets a few days before my show. Standing wasn’t bad at all. The show only lasts about 45 mins. If you’d prefer a bench seat I recommend booking well in advance.
Amazing experience listening to talented and entertaining musicians. Wendell Brunious was our bandleader and he performed with his wife on the clarinet. All other musicians talented and so personable when we went afterward to chat and ask for a photo. Highly recommend! Usher seated our group of three together even though we each had a ticket in a different section due to low availability of tickets at purchase time.
Visiting Preservation Hall was an unforgettable experience! This place has such a unique and authentic atmosphere — you truly feel the spirit of New Orleans jazz the moment you walk in. The live music was absolutely incredible — raw, emotional, and full of energy. It felt intimate and special, like being part of something truly historic. The venue itself is simple, but that’s exactly what makes it so charming and real. If you want to experience genuine jazz and the soul of New Orleans, this is a must-visit spot. Highly recommend!
A visit to Preservation Hall feels like stepping into the soul of New Orleans. It sits right in the middle of the French Quarter, but once you’re inside, everything slows down. No distractions. Just music and history. The band is fire. Not in a flashy way, but in a way that feels real. You can tell they know exactly where this music comes from and why it matters. Between songs, they share pieces of that history, and it never feels forced. It just flows, like the music itself. One of the best parts is what happens after. Stick around. Talk to them. They’re open, down to earth, and happy to share stories.
