Stunning building and interesting collection. No guiding theme, seems built on what collectors donate or lend. Sevres exhibit was great. Lovely little collection of portrait miniatures that is well identified. Nice Cafe (try the Roberge cake!) The sculpture garden is STUNNING, even in the rain, it's a must see.
This museum is beautiful! Louisiana residents get a discount and so do students! So as a LA resident and a student (online Full Sail University) I only had to pay $11 and all children are free! Three stories tall and has an adorable restaurant and gift shop! If your kids don’t behave don’t bring them, there is a quiet and calm vibe to be maintained, mind were very well behaved and were interested in some of the art!
Good museum, decent painting collection. I especially liked the non-European part, Mexico and meso-America and the African collection was very quality. The sculpture garden is really great, probably the highlight. Good to spend 2-3 hours here if you have enough time in New Orleans.
Walking through the sculpture garden was amazing, and such a wonderful experience being among the century oaks!!!! Then our group of 10 enjoyed lunch at the NOMA cafe!
Every Wednesday, all Louisiana residents have free admissions to visit the New Orleans Museum of Art. I really enjoyed my time here during my visit. Beautiful artworks are displayed throughout the museum. There were a variety of artworks displayed ranging from historical to modern. All of the inside was clean and kept in perfect tact. There are a variety of street parking available around the museum, and it’s also in the heart of City Park so you can go around the area before or after visiting. Overall, a pretty solid art museum in the New Orleans area.
