I have a saying about food: is it worth running naked for? Well Doris Metropolitan is worth having an entre naked second line!!!! The service is exquisite, and the staff is well versed in everything on the menu. We had the charcuterie board, the chef's choice, and basically every side on the menu. The cheese selection was so fantastic I had the waiter write the offerings down for me. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and were partnered with bone marrow. The only thing I would subtract half a star for is the Bananas Foster. I prefer my bananas to be sautéed instead of fresh, but that is personal preference. The ice cream and the flavors were wonderful.
Walked in on a very wet New Orleans night without reservation. Sat at the bar and was well taken care off by the bar guys and the servers. Service was friendly and attentive. The whole place was very dark and moody, perfect to impress with. Had the tomato salad to begin with and i would have it again. Tart and juicy, its acidity and sharpness on the tongue was refreshing. Main dish came and the bone-in NY Strip was rather excellent. It was about an inch thick yet the inside was cooked perfectly. You could see that the presentation was on the arty side, and that’s a summary of the place really - fancy done well.
Excellence steakhouse. I arrived without a reservation. I was able to get a seat at the bar. The wait staff are very attentive and had excellent recommendations. I was surprised by the three different varieties of bread that they brought. That was a fun experience. The New York strip I ordered rare was one of the best that I’ve ever had.
Doris Metropolitan is a top-tier steakhouse experience in New Orleans. The Australian Wagyu was high quality and perfectly executed, and the variety of cuts across the table were all cooked right. The octopus appetizer was a standout, and the lamb chops with carrots and brussels were well balanced. Drinks were on point and service by Noelle was attentive and responsive. Great spot for a celebratory dinner.
Always the best for meat dishes...The Fall off the Bone is a must. Short rib cooked amazingly well that needs no knife. Their wagyu and other selections selections are the best around - and we've covered them all. The service is super friendly!
