Underground system of ancient catacombs, tunnels, caverns, cisterns & hideouts accessible by tour.via Google

An underground tour exploring the ancient Greek-Roman aqueducts, air-raid shelters from WWII, and the remains of a Roman theater.

Good to know
Requires walking through tight, candlelit tunnels; not recommended for claustrophobic visitors.

Grazia is the best. She made the visit not only interesting but also funny and interactive. We took the tour in Spanish and although she’s Italian she speaks perfectly Spanish. I really really recommend to do this tour with her. The tour is really interesting and it helps you to understand the real situation under earth of Nápoles: not only during the war, but also the ancient history. This is a MUST.

This was a highlight of our trip to Naples, the history was fascinating and squeezing through the tight tunnels was fun and exciting. Our guide, Graziea, made the tour especially memorable, she was full of knowledge and passion for the subject and she was funny and approachable too. She really put you in the shoes off the ancient Greeks that mined the cavities for building materials, the Romans that expanded the tunnels into an an aqueduct, the wellmen that maintained the drinking water supply, and the 230,000 Neopolitans that used the catacombs for shelter during the extensive bombing of Napoli during WW2. Truly fascinating history that you get to experience first hand.

The tour was awesome. Takes about an hour. The guide was super knowledgeable and also funny as well. The story the guide told was very captivating and left you looking forward to hearing more as the tour progressed. I would 100% attend this tour again. Mainly to help support the work they do of cleaning out Naples underground, and partly to hear about new discoveries made by the volunteers who explain the rich history of the Underground and help clean it up.

A must visit if you are in Naples. 2000 years of history in underground constructions. From transporting water to bunker and now tourist attraction. We got an exelent guide who told us the story also if the "munaschello" and other funny and interesting facts. The gift shop at the end was also well supllied with some unique crafted items.

A must see, Grace our tour guide was so knowledgeable and kept the large group engaged! The history of the underground was super interesting you go in from the Spanish quarters and then out in Chiaia. The tour is about an hour and a half and you get to see so much. We went a few days in advance to put our name down for the date and time we wanted.
