Took a day trip to Naples while I stayed in Rome to sample the food at Italy’s oldest standing pizza establishment. The menu was simple - three choices which is different from what I’m used to in New York. The pie was thin with a soft crust and not a lot of cheese. My final verdict…it was good and definitely worth a side trip from my wandering.

The only reason I gave it a 4 star is the long wait. It is too famous for its own good. Wait can stretch from an hour to 3 hrs or more depending on the time you come to eat. The giving away of the numbers is also highly disorganized. No proper lines so usually the loudest or rudest person gets waiting numbers assigned quicker than those waiting patiently. I also saw that if you wait by the door and bribe the person assigning the tables around €10 you get a table right away. This is outrageous because the pizza only cost €8. Once we got seats, we ordered our pizzas and waited. Meanwhile our pizzas was served to another table who came much later than us and the our server was scolding the other server for giving our pizza to the other table. All these chaos does dampens the overall experience. In the end I felt like the pizza taste was not worth all the wait and hype. It's good no doubt but worth waiting annhour or more? You will have to decide

The food is classic in the best way—everything is kept simple, high-quality, and done properly. The service was exceptionally fast too. We also came at a non-touristy time, so we walked right in and sat wherever we wanted with no waiting. Atmosphere is a solid 5/5 for me because it reminded me of my hometown and the traditional “lokanta” restaurants back home warm, honest, and comforting. If you’re coming to Napoli, this place really shouldn’t be missed.

Went here on a weekday afternoon. There was a line outside, but I think it was mostly for takeout. We went inside, got a table right away, and ordering was smooth and easy. We ordered the Cosacca pizza, and the sauce was very generous, which we enjoyed. For us, one pizza was enough for two people, though others might disagree. The split pizza wasn’t exactly half and half, but it wasn’t a problem at all because everything still tasted really good. The two guys sitting beside us ordered at least three pizzas while we were there, though I’m not sure if they had already ordered before that. The staff were kind, lively, and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. One thing to note: if you order takeout, you can’t dine inside the restaurant. It might still be possible to eat on the street or at the tables outside. While we were there, some customers were insisting on eating their takeout orders inside.

I visited here early March as a solo female. Was thankfully given a seat straight away despite being very full indeed. It was full of Italian families and children, lovely atmosphere, all chattering and bustling. I ordered 1 of the 4 pizza available and it arrived in what seemed like seconds.. Bobbling hot and oozing with cheese it was literally amazing! A pizza and a bottle of beer, €10! Highly recommend!
