An exceptionally clean and friendly hostel located close to the central train station, making it ideal for day trips to Pompeii and Herculaneum.

As a solo female traveler, I was honestly a little scared when I checked in at night, but the staff immediately made me feel comfortable and safe. Everyone was so sweet, welcoming, and helpful. The room was clean, I loved the balcony, and the location is perfect — very close to the train station, the center, and the old town. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hostel!
Staying at this hostel was a secret gem . It is Naples's first ever hostel, and they have been going for 30 years. I can see why. While I stayed at a much more modern hostel on my first night, the diligence of the team to provide really friendly, helpful service was unmatched. The area might feel initially unsafe but I genuinely realised after walking around Naples more, this area is not any different from many parts of the city and actually, if you keep street aware just like in any city, I got back to the hostel at 10pm and felt perfectly okay. The hostel has a key card swipe system and big iron gates protecting the main entrance. I paid an extra 4 euro to stay in a girls only dorm room with 4 bunk beds, and 4 lockers. The experience was perfect because the other three girls were super respectful of being quiet. Then if you wake up before 10am, you'll get the free breakfast before check out! All in all, I would definitely come back to this hostel when I'm in Naples next time, and it's only 3 mins from the train station!
I dont recommend, the beds are very close to each other, they fit 3 bunk beds in 2 meter x 2 meter corner and the neighboorhood at night has homeless people. I asked if it was dangerous but they got defensive and told me Mexico is more dangerous, un-profesional comments! If you can spend a little more on another hostal the better.
The only minus is the front door and entrance plus stairs looking dirty. The area outside the frontdoor is not so safe and street-thief tried to take my roommates wallet when he entered the hostel. 🏨 Everything else inside is perfect 👌 Clean rooms and beds with duvet and storage boxes and free WiFi and so on… Clean toilets and shower… Helpful to guide on tours and order taxi even 4am morning.
Hostel manicini is a 1-star hotel located in the gentrified, modern city centre of Naples. This is an unfortunate case where there isn't any one specific, big problem, but rather a bunch of small problems that add up and make the stay uncomfortable. We stayed for two nights in a double room with a shared bathroom. We arrived at early morning, and the hotel manager was kind enough to allow us to take coffee from the breakfast. Our room was decent - it didn't have any special amenities, merely hangers and a small table. Later at night, we discovered problems: 1. The "shared bathroom" is quite literally one toilet and one shower+toilet, which are only cleaned once (!!!) a day. 2. In the sinks, there's no hand soap nor anything to allow you to dry your hands. 3. The floor is slippery and the only water absorbing mat is very small and stinky. Very, very stinky, to the point of unusabilty. 4. Even though you aren't officially required to leave your room if you're in a double room, the hostel is essentially unusable during that time. The cleaning lady didn't let us use the bathroom or gave us weird looks and was rude when I wanted to brush my teeth. To deny acess to toilets is completely unacceptable, especially considering there aren't any other toilets available to guests except the ones they're assigned to. 5. The AC kept switching to low power mode by itself constantly and regardless of room temperature. It worked well when it did but it was very hard getting it to work for the whole night. 6. Rental towels are low quality and thin Barely enough for tall people let alone ones with long hair. 7. Curtains were not dark enough to keep the light from outside out during the night. This was extremely disappointing to find out. The location, as others pointed out, isn't the best there is. Some walk to Napoli centrale for metro and a lot of busses nearby, but the area is very dirty and essentially becomes a market during daytime at summer.
