I had dinner at the Copper Restaurant. Located in Lavington on James Gichuru Rd. It was a small but cosy restaurant with limited seating. The menu was not extensive either just limited to a few choices. The service was great. Maybe it's because the diners were few? The starter consisted of a miniscule portion of tomato bread with half a cracker served with less than a quarter teaspoon of spicy butter and cream cheese. I skipped the appetizer when l learned that it only had one prawn. For my main course l ordered Braised Lamb with Truffle steak fries. The portion l received was super small. 4 pieces of perfectly made truffle steak fries and a handful of delicious braised lamb (which would have been an appetizer at another restaurant.) For dessert I ordered a cheese cake. I would rate it at 5/10. For my beverage the waiter recommended the mocha milkshake versus the expresso. The shake was nice but very light. It had the consistency of a smoothie with no ice-cream in it. It was served in a small glass. Unlike what you get at CJs. The price ... kshs 750. I actually found a strange object in the shake. It was a small piece of a toothpick. (This speaks volumes on the hygiene standards.) I informed the waiter. The makers of the milkshake agreed to replace it. However the replacement was not as good as the first one. It was rather strong. I had to ask the waiter to have it diluted. In conclusion the service was good, small space but cosy. The food good but a bit pricey considering the very small portions. The waiting time for the food was on point.

There are many great things to say about the modern decor, many amenities in the room, delicious food available 24/7, but the service stands out. Every single staff person from security to the front desk, housekeeping and restaurant were highly professional, attentive, warm and welcoming. They have nailed 5-Star customer service. Highly recommend The Social House hotel. Victor and Enoch were especially helpful when I had to do a virtual presentation to a US audience at 11:30 pm Nairobi time. They put me in a conference room (at 11pm!), made sure I had what I needed and that made a huge difference. I highly recommend this hotel for business travelers.

Super small rooms, really small and we didn’t have any shampoo or conditioner. Secured the room by expedia.com and was surprised when we came to the reception area to check in. We had to pay an additional fee, and which I told them I wasn’t happy and they said I need to pay. The positive on this was a really neat brewery up the street, which was really nice. I would not recommend this hotel.

I stopped by the Social House for a quick lunch (The Other Room), and both the service and the food were excellent. We left feeling happy and full, but once I got back to the office, I realized I had accidentally left behind a small accessory that holds great sentimental and spiritual value for me. I called the front desk, and they responded quickly, reassuring me that they had found it and were keeping it safe. When I returned, the security guard, Gershom, greeted me with a big smile and handed it back to me. I was beyond relieved and grateful for their honesty and kindness. In fact, we were so appreciative that we decided to stay for lunch at Inca, the upstairs restaurant, and it was fantastic! A wonderful experience from start to finish.

I loved everything about social house. The ambience was perfectans the food too notch. The service was average. There is a bartender called Lauretta that was very rude otherwise I'd vote the service a 10/10. I'd definitely go again (minus Lauretta)
