Extremely unpleasant experience. We ordered the complimentary bread that comes with the meal and waited for a very long time. When the bread was finally ready, a Nepalese female server deliberately skipped our table and went to ask two other tables if they had ordered it, completely ignoring us. The only obvious difference was that those two tables were white customers. This behavior felt like blatant discrimination. What made it even worse was that we never received any proper apology. Such treatment toward customers is completely unacceptable and very disappointing.
Very delicious Iranian food with a beautiful view, wonderful service. We had the tasting menu for 17.500 OMR per person, but we were quite surprised to see that almost 20.000 OMR were added to the bill (tourist fee, taxes, etc)… otherwise it’s an excellent restaurant
Authentic Iranian food! Great food and the views from the terrace are absolutely breathtaking. They make fresh bread and serve it to you with a yogurt appetizer while you wait for your meal. Perfect spot for a great meal with a beautiful view.
We went to Crowne Plaza yesterday and tried the Iranian restaurant called Shiraz. What a treat it was! We ordered the mixed kebab plate, which came with 2 kobedeh, 2 delicious lamb chops, and 2 chicken skewers. Along with that, we ordered two types of rice—one with saffron and pomegranate, and the other was green rice with herbs. Both were absolutely amazing! We also had the cucumber and pomegranate salad, which was really refreshing. The dinner started with a delicious tray of fresh bread, yogurt sauce, and salad with walnuts and feta cheese cubes. Honestly, even the starters are something I know I’ll be craving again. Now, about the ambiance: the restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, and each has its own charm. We sat indoors this time, and the place is very tastefully decorated with Iranian touches—beautiful wall hangings, nice curtain drapes, and even an indoor bread oven that adds to the character. We sat near the window and could see the view outside. The outdoor seating is perfect for cooler winter nights, with a beautiful view of the sea, beach, mountains, and the famous “Love Road.” Since the restaurant is set a little higher up, almost terrace-style, the view and lighting make the whole place feel romantic and full of character. A special mention to the restaurant supervisor and manager, who were both very warm and welcoming. They kept checking on us to make sure everything was perfect and that we were enjoying our evening. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Salvin for his extra care and for capturing such lovely photographs with the right angles—memories we’ll truly cherish from this dinner. Crowne Plaza never disappoints, and Shiraz was no exception. I am definitely going back soon and would highly recommend this restaurant—you won’t be disappointed!
Great experience and food was very good. Easily some of the best food I ate in Muscat. Great view and ambiance also. I also lost my rings in the bathroom and hadn't noticed for 4 days that they were missing. The crowne plaza staff were so helpful in getting them back to me, even after I had left the country. I want to come back!
