I had lunch at Bait Al Luban during a short stay in Muscat, and despite not having a reservation, the team managed to accommodate us graciously. We were actually celebrating, and they made the experience feel special from the first moment. The highlight was the balcony overlooking Mutrah Corniche, the sea, the mountains, and the harbor create a setting that feels both historic and serene. It is worth specifically asking for a balcony table if available. The food reflects traditional Omani flavors. The shuwa was tender and well-seasoned, served with fragrant rice. We also tried the halwa with ice cream, which was a pleasant balance of sweetness and texture. Dates and Omani coffee rounded off the meal in a very authentic way. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff handled the busy lunch atmosphere efficiently. If you want traditional Omani cuisine in a setting that combines heritage interiors with one of the best views in Muscat, this is a strong choice but reservations are advisable, especially on weekends.

Honestly the best restaurant in the area, recommended by my local friend for a range of authentic dishes. Visited twice in the end. All food top notch. By accident I ordered harees (ayres) in the local dialect. I normally hate it but it was actually really good here. Also vegetable (potentially vegan) dishes available. Fava beans or the coconut spinach are great mains to try, flavourful and light. Completely over ordered, maybe 30-40 OMR for two. Staff very friendly and attentive, dates and coffee (with a bit of rose water) on the house.

First time at Bait Al Luban—and what a lovely experience! The moment I walked in, I felt like I was stepping into a cozy part of Oman’s cultural heritage. The interiors are beautifully done with traditional seating, colorful fabrics, lanterns, and even artifacts like the khanjar displayed in the table. The food was hearty and flavorful—perfect for a comforting dinner. I loved the lamb shuwa with rice, and the rich stew with yellow rice was another favorite. The crispy fritters and green chutney were a great way to start. And don’t miss the fresh dates served in that elegant silver bowl—such a nice touch with frankincense in water for the welcome drink. It’s a great spot to experience real Omani hospitality and cuisine, especially if it’s your first visit to Muscat or just your first time trying authentic local flavors. I’ll definitely be back!

Located at the end of the beautiful Corniche, very close to the Fish roundabout and just a few hundred meters away from the the souk, this restaurant is a must go if you're in Muscat. It offers a good service, high quality food and allows you to discover the local omani cuisine. We've tried the lobster and the traditional lamb recipe from Oman, both were excellent. Oh, and the thin bread they serve there is absolutely to die for!

Very good restaurant option in Muscat. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation only because we were early. Both the food and the service was excellent. The fact that it is fully booked on a Monday night says a lot.
