An amazing hotel with great service, very comfortable rooms and great breakfast. A must choice when visiting Mumbai full of history. The pool is also great
The hotel itself is beautiful and sits right across from the historic Gateway of India, which is a big plus. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the common areas are well-kept. However, the rooms on the heritage side are not soundproof at all, so it can get quite noisy. The tower-side rooms feel old, a bit rusty, and noticeably small. Another downside is that the common areas are constantly crowded, seems like a lot of visitors walk in just to look around which makes the space feel less comfortable for guests. The breakfast buffet was just okay, nothing particularly memorable. The c lounge was nice, and we tried the food at Loya and cafe by the pool, but it didn’t really reflect the depth of Indian cuisine or hospitality that we expected. Overall, it’s definitely worth visiting the hotel for its history and atmosphere, but I wouldn’t recommend staying in the rooms.
Taj palace entrance is congested. Valet takes a lot of time as there is not enough parking spaces available. They also park on the streets. Visited the Crystal Room. Spacious Hall enough for 250-300 pax. Guests more than 300 and it will be very congested. Food is good.
Best hotel I’ve stayed in. Not just luxury but heritage and tradition. Had dinner at the North Indian restaurante, amazing! Would highly recommend the heritage tour. Our guide Prabakhar was great!
Was totally unaware when we fixed a business meeting coupled with lunch that Lionel Messi would be at the hotel premises. Have never encountered such chaotic crowds and extreme security levels at the Taj in recent memory. Once inside the sanctuary of the restaurant though normalcy returned. The fare served at the Golden Dragon was 5 star as has always been and the stewards and staff always ready to suggest better alternatives. Keep it up Taj
