We celebrated a birthday dinner at the phenomenal Bombay Canteen, ranked 29th in India, and had an unforgettable evening with their trailblazing menu, mostly featuring their delectable small plates. The culinary journey began with the sublime seabass sev puri, ghee roast chicken sheekh, pork birria tacos, prawn ali yolio, butter garlic prawns, and the divine butter garlic crab kulchas. The main course was highlighted by their highly acclaimed clay pot rice with mutton and the scrumptious prawn malai curry. The coffee rasfulla sundae dessert was a masterstroke. Every dish was an extraordinary 10 out of 10, with flavors that were truly life-affirming. The exceptional service, despite the restaurant being packed, was outstanding, and the retro music added to the celebratory ambiance, making it a truly great evening for a birthday celebration. Meal was 3000 per head including alcohol

Had an amazing lunch experience at Bombay Canteen, Parel. A reservation is definitely recommended as the place gets quite busy. We started with the Avocado Sev Puri and Corn Locho, with the Corn Locho being an absolute standout. The Chur Mur (crispy potato tuk) was packed with flavor, and for mains, the Dal Makhni, Saag Aloo, and Lacha Parathas were excellent. The Multigrain Chur Chur Mirchi Paratha is a must-try! We ended with the Coffee Rasgulla Sundae, which was a unique and delicious dessert. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but the food, creativity, and overall dining experience make it well worth it. Would happily visit again! PS: limited jain options.

There is a large menu, as a non Indian tourist, I thoroughly enjoyed the choices. We ordered five tapas dishes and Kulcha bread, and two curries. I personally loved all small dishes especially the minced squid and short rib and marrow. While I found the coconut based fish curry a bit too sweet to my liking and The chicken curry a bit too rich and a bit on the bitter side, the Indians in my group enjoyed both dishes. Service and ambiance are both impeccable The restaurant is pleasant decorated in 80s theme, even 80s music.

I rarely leave reviews, but I was so blown away by this place that I felt compelled to add my two cents. After nearly three weeks of travelling — and full time eating, since both my friend and I work in that field — across India, this was one of the final restaurants of our trip. We chose the tasting experience so we could try as much as possible, and we were genuinely stunned by every single dish. Fusion can go wrong so easily (tacos, aglio e olio-inspired dishes, and so on) but here everything was woven together so perfectly with Indian flavours and ingredients we could barely even place that we were deeply impressed. Precisely because we had spent the past few weeks eating so many traditional Indian dishes, we were even more struck by the modern — yet still refined and deeply respectful — twist given to them here. It takes real talent to make something feel recognisable while reinventing it completely at the same time. The non-alcoholic drinks were extraordinary too; I won’t forget the cola with chaat masala and coriander anytime soon. I often say metaphorically that food is “so good it makes me cry,” but when my friend and I took a bite of the sundae, that genuinely happened :) This may sound sentimental, but this meal truly touched our souls!! Huge compliments to the chef, and also to the service team, who were incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and kind.

We came here on our last night in Mumbai upon a recommendation. Loved the atmosphere and the inventive menu! Our server, Kedar, was very attentive, explained the menu and recommended items. He made our experience a 10/10 so thank you! I recommend the beef tartare, the chettinad prawns and the rasgullai desert. These were incredible !!!
