Beautiful pond. Devine feeling . Many temples located here. Near to malabar hill and Marine drive .
It's an historical place. According to Hindu Mythology it's a sacred place. It is considered as a part of Ganga people come here to perform last ritual of any Pooja and interesting part this place is just few meters away from The sea but the water from this is purely drinkable without any adulteration. I myself tasted this
Banganga Tank (near Grant Road area) is one of the oldest and most peaceful spots in Mumbai. Peaceful & spiritual vibe – Even though Mumbai is busy, this place feels calm and quiet. Many people visit for meditation and relaxation. Historical importance – It’s an ancient water tank linked to Hindu mythology and temples around it. Photography & aesthetics – Old-style steps, temples, and reflections in water make it visually beautiful. Less crowded (on weekdays) – Compared to other tourist spots, it’s usually not too packed.
Banganga Tank is an important religious site for Hindus, and one of the oldest pieces of architecture in Mumbai. It is a freshwater tank located close to the ocean, though I'm not sure about the actual quality of the water. Surprisingly, this area was not filled with noise pollution as expected in many other parts of Bombay.
An ancient, rectangular temple tank surrounded by temples, offering a tranquil spiritual spot in the city. Created by Lord Rama shooting an arrow (ban) to get water (Ganga). A pilgrimage site, part of the Walkeshwar Temple complex, with healing properties and a popular spot for rituals. Temples (like Shiva Temple), memorial stones, Deepstambhas (light pillars).
