Our final meal in Italy was at Trattoria Trippa, which happened to be both our most anticipated and one of the best meals of the trip. I do enjoyed every dish, from the appetizers to the dessert. While everything was outstanding, special call-outs were the Fried Tripe, Veal with Tuna Sauce (Vitello Tonnato), Tagliatelle with butter, parmesan, and chicken stock, Grilled Veal, and the Tiramisu. Hats off to the chef! Also, be sure to check out their impressive wine list.

We had a wonderful time in Trippa. We took Vitello tonato - splendid!!! Must try, one of the best that I have ever had.For the second we had vitellone alla brace - simply amazing!! And the deserts are also incredible. I would say that may be after 2 months of waiting for the dinner will seem not worth it, because you might have too high expectations. But apart from this, the place is really nice and if you manage to book a table here - you will be satisfied for sure at the end of the evening.

Trippa was excellent. The mood was electric in this small and unassuming restaurant. Wait staff were good humored and gracious. Realizing not everyone is an expert in Italian wine they asked a few good questions and offered a couple of suggestions with descriptions and I enjoyed my choice. The food was all I had hoped for. The trippa fritta was new to me and a real salty treat. Memories of my mom’s dishes came back to with the lemache and the vitello tonno put a version we had the night before to shame. The classics trippa in vitello ragu was a joy as was the zuppa.

Trattoria Trippa deserves all the praise. I’m so glad I made a reservation for our trip to Milan. It was the best meal we had on our trip of Italy (Florence, Venice and Milan). The servers were friendly, polite and mindful of any food allergies. Every dish was executed perfectly from the drinks (we ordered a coke, but that lemon peel really brought out the flavour of the coke!) to the starters (the olives and veal), to the mains (fish and veal cooked to perfection), the dessert (tiramisu was light and airy and had such a nice mix of aroma and right amount of sweetness) and the espresso (a fruity blend of coffee beans) to end the meal. Truly another level of what I thought I knew about Italian cuisine and the flavours I’ve tasted before this. Trattoria Trippa has set the bar high.
