This place is a must visit for classical music lovers. The theatre is a real piece of Milan's history. In front of the theatre is Piazza della Scala showing a statue of the famous Leonardo da Vinci. Inside you will find information about the history of the La Scala, on display you will come across a big variety of musical instruments, portraits of opera stars, information about the famous artists from Italy and abroad that performed here throughout the history. Interesting display of costumes from former plays, sketches of stage decorations, paintings and sculptures of famous singers, composers, conductors and other music-related people. Take in consideration that when shows are on you might have limited access to some rooms. Tickets can be bought online or at the entrance. The theatre can be visited on your own or joining a guided tour. Was very beautiful, very authentic atmosphere. It has a classic look and feel to the old style theatre buildings. Would love to see a performance here. Next to the theatre you have a few cultural enriching activities like visiting Galleria d'Italia, Palazzo Marino, Leonardo3 Museum. Just around the corner you have a tram stop and in 5 minutes walking the Duomo di Milano.

The Nabucco Opera Premiere with the 1st cast was simply devine. The natural acoustic of the theater is exquisite. As Anna Netrebko hit the high notes in piano in her arias the whole theater held their breaths.. The va, pensiero choir in 2nd act was heavenly sung. 10 minutes of applause stopped the performance. Maestro conducted the orchestra with such dynamic! The difference from the pianissimo to fortissimo in this place feels like the best sound equipment you can get. You hear each note of each instrument constantly. No words to describe how good the performance is!! I sat in L row ground floor ,) you can see everything very good!

What an exceptional experience. Once in a life time for me! as an Asian person, it was great to attend opera. Reminder to be aware of dress code as Italian dress really proper for opera!!! Good thing is there’s subtitle in English for the opera . Staff is helpful. Nice bar during the break too, good champagne.
