Highly recommended for anyone interested in modern art, particularly works from the Post-Impressionist and Fauvist periods. The museum houses an exceptional collection, would gladly visit again whenever the opportunity arises. The terrace also offers a fantastic view of the Duomo. I noticed some visitors recommend coming at sunset, but during the European summer, sunset is quite late, which may not be practical.
Museo del Novecento offers a stunning showcase of Italian 20th‑century art, from Futurism and Cubism to Metaphysical painting and Abstract sculpture. Visitors can admire masterpieces by leading Italian artists such as Giorgio Morandi, Umberto Boccioni, Lucio Fontana and Giacomo Balla, alongside pivotal works by Pablo Picasso and Wassily Kandinsky. The collection captures the dynamism of Futurism, the layered perspectives of Cubism, and the contemplative still life of the metaphysical school. A must‑visit in Milan for anyone passionate about modern art and its revolutionary movements!
The Museo del Novecento—where art meets the atmosphere of Milan ✨ Minimalism, light, iconic works of the 20th century, and *that* unforgettable view of the Duomo. Each gallery evokes a distinct mood; every detail speaks of aesthetics, style, and inspiration. I love places where time seems to slow down, and art speaks louder than words ❤️ Milan, you are pure art
One of the museums in Milano that you can visit in the first Sunday of Milano with no pre booking needed!! The collection is amazing, you can see Picasso, Henri Matisse, Kandinsky, Boccioni, and Paul Klee!! It’s next to the Duomo, so you can also enjoy the amazing view from here too. Definitely recommended to visit if you are into history of art.
Great modern art museum. I bought the Musei Cívico di Milano that includes 6 museums including this and Castello Sforza.
