"Reflessioni" is a menu of wonderful contrasts. The chef's goal is to take familiar and unfamiliar ingredients and bring them together to create totally new flavors. From what we saw, most diners went for their traditional menu instead, so it was cool to see what everyone was getting at different tables. The space is really neatly designed so that while you could see some nearby diners and tables entirely, most were partially obscured by the divisions down the length of the room, which created a fun mystery atmosphere. The staff clearly love their jobs, and were very engaged in the dishes and the pairings, but not overly serious or stiff. We laughed with them and chatted, which was a really nice experience. We also got a blind pairing of wine and non-alcoholic drinks, which also enhanced the fun. The coolest part for me was really enjoying some ingredients I don't particularly like (such as seaweed) because of how they were paired (in this case, with strawberry). We left feeling very happy and not too full after our four-hour dinner, but were rather very satisfied; I think this is a must-go for adventurous eaters!
Dinner on May 9th. Fantastic dinner and service. Loved the cake at the end. Would recommend.
Dinner at Contraste Milano by Chef Matias Perfomo a 1 star Michelin.. let’s start with the Good; 1. The Team & The Service. 2. The first experience; loved how the plates were built on hand gestures. Now the food; this 10 course tasting experience had only one dish which was OK and that’s the brioche, last dessert. The rest of the dishes were tasteless. Overall rating 1/10 wouldn’t recommend it. Chefs in general should focus more on their food rather than trying hard in creative displays. And Michelin stars should be only given for good food to start with! Not sure how this place got rating of 4.7!!
It was an interesting dining experience. Came here with some friends for dinner on a Monday might. Food was nice and it was good that they tried to combine traditional Italian dishes with a unique twist. If you've been to Italy a lot and would like to try something different. This restaurant is worth a stop. Service was a bit cold, but then again we were the loudest ones in the room as there were 8 of us. But I would definitely recommend this place.
You are like in a Wim Wenders filmography—a bit mysterious, a bit bizarre, a bit crazy. Even the music is special. A really interesting way of serving dishes and an unconventional mixing of different tastes. The only thing that was missing was a bit more discussion after each course. But still, it was an amazing food adventure.
