Visiting Palacio de Bellas Artes was an absolutely breathtaking experience and one of the cultural highlights of Mexico. The building itself is magnificent, with stunning architecture that combines elegance, history, and artistic beauty. From the outside, the white marble facade and colorful dome are truly iconic, and inside the atmosphere feels majestic and inspiring. One of the most special things about this place is knowing that legendary artists such as Juan Gabriel performed here. Remembering his unforgettable concerts at Bellas Artes adds an emotional and cultural significance that makes the visit even more meaningful. The theater, murals, and artistic atmosphere create a true celebration of Mexican culture and talent. Overall, a must visit landmark in Mexico City historic, artistic, and absolutely unforgettable.
Palacio de Bellas Artes is absolutely worth visiting. First, a warm reminder for future visitors: no food or drinks are allowed inside. There is a bag check, but they only accept backpacks or suitcases — they won’t take care of other types of bags, so plan accordingly. The ticket price for me was $95 MXN, which is very reasonable for such an iconic landmark. The architecture is stunning, both outside and inside. The white marble exterior, the grand entrance, and the details throughout the building are breathtaking. Inside, the murals and interior design reflect Mexico’s rich artistic and cultural history, and you can easily spend time just admiring the craftsmanship. The atmosphere feels elegant and historic, yet welcoming. Whether you’re into architecture, art, or photography, this place is a must-see in Mexico City. I really loved the experience and would absolutely recommend it.
A must-see—and even better, a must-experience an event here. I was lucky enough to attend both the Ballet Folklórico de México and a symphony performance at Palacio de Bellas Artes, and it was unforgettable. The hall itself is breathtaking, from the stained glass ceiling to the famous crystal curtain—honestly, that curtain alone is worth learning about before you go. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. But what truly stood out to me was the acoustics. I'm a self-proclaimed "acoustics snob", sound quality is everything, and I can say this space is exceptional. Every note felt clear, balanced, and alive, whether it was the full orchestra or traditional dance music. It’s one of those rare venues where the sound elevates the entire experience. Do buy your tickets well in advance. Because the amazing Alondra de La Parra was conducting the day I wanted to see the symphony. The tickets were sold out 2 months prior when I checked. So I went just prior to the show starting and held up a small sign. That said, I was looking for a single ticket and was able to get one. Even though I was in the third tier in the gallery. It was still a wonderful experience. If you’re in Mexico City, don’t just tour it—see a performance. It makes all the difference.
This palace is a quick visit, especially since it was free on Sunday when we went. There are several art displays, although I personally couldn’t appreciate the art. It was still worth a quick visit. The staff was friendly and helpful. You have to leave any large backpack in a locker at the entrance for free
This place is amazing ! The theatre tour is every 30 min. alternating between Spanish and English. It is definitely a must see and experience. We then proceeded to get a ticket for the art gallery. Being senior there was no charge. But I would’ve gladly paid. The architecture and the attention to detail. The floors, the walls, the ceilings the columns are all together. The artwork of course is “different strokes for different folks” but all in all, just amazing ! What a beautiful experience !
