Los Loosers has a unique fully vegan concept blending Mexican and Japanese influences. They also make a variety of in-house fermented drinks, which adds personality to the experience. The space is split into two small dining rooms plus outdoor patio seating. The layout looks interesting, but the second room seemed easy to overlook from a service perspective. We sat in the main room and noticed staff spent most of their time there, while guests in the second room were not checked on as frequently. The servers were friendly and welcoming overall. Food-wise, the dishes were good, especially if you enjoy spicy flavours, but nothing stood out as exceptional. The presentation was nice and the menu felt thoughtful for vegans looking for something different from the usual options. One issue during the visit was with a drink recommendation. I mentioned wanting something light and juice-like, without a beer-style flavour, but the recommended drink still had a strong fermented taste, even though it was non-alcoholic. Since the bottle was already opened, they still charged for it after I switched to water. It would have been appreciated if staff had handled that situation with a bit more flexibility. Pricing sits on the higher side, though still reasonable for the area and concept. We made reservations, but during dinner time the restaurant was still fairly quiet. Overall, I would recommend Los Loosers to vegans interested in Mexican-Japanese fusion and house-fermented drinks, even if the flavours themselves are not particularly groundbreaking.
Great restaurant! Highly recommended. Beautiful, creative and super tasty dishes. The staff is also very friendly. Nice place!
Truly a mind-blowing experience! This was my second visit to Los Loosers and I must say that I liked it even more this time than the last time that was in 2022. I was simply too sad when I finished both of the tacos that I ordered. The “fish” taco that consisted of battered fried fermented mushroom was crunchy and light although it was fried. The addition of seaweed in the cashew cream brought me a sensation that I was on the seaside, eating something “fishy”. The adobe seasoned fermented mushroom taco was full of umami and had such a deep flavor. The carrot kimchi served together with tacos was very tasty and fresh. I look forward to go back and try some other dishes - anyway, they change the menu regularly but I am sure that everything will taste just great! I don’t know why they have only average of 4.1 rating, they should have way more than that!
Cute little hole in the wall spot with a great vibe, tons of fermented and house made mushroom based stuff that was all delicious. The moles and specialty tacos were incredible some of the best I’ve ever had
I had the best tacos here! I got the koji fish taco and al pastor taco. They were packed full of flavour but not overpowering. The service was good and the staff gave great recommendations. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and had nice lighting.
