Honestly kind of disappointed. I was travelling and decided to go here for a friendly queer vibe. The bar staff were really rude and wouldn't let me charge my phone to get an Uber home. I paid entry and brought a bunch of drinks too. I found circuit staff friendlier.

Huge shoutout to Will behind the bar — genuinely one of the best bartenders I’ve come across. Not only is he ridiculously good looking, but he actually knows how to make people feel welcome and looked after from the second they walk in. He already knows my drink order before I even get to the bar, always keeps the vibes high, and somehow manages to make every night feel fun and effortless. You can tell he genuinely cares about the customers and the atmosphere, which honestly makes such a difference in a gay venue. Professional, attentive, funny, and way too attractive for his own good 😂 Absolute asset to the venue — give this man a raise.

I visited Yah Yah’s on a Friday night in October 2025 for a rave event. It was such an easy spot to find, right next to Sircuit with trams running along the main street and both free or paid parking nearby. They share a smokers’ area with Sircuit, and the venue’s pretty easy to spot thanks to the ticket booth out front and the entry line. Security were fairly friendly, and the door and cloakroom staff were super kind. I’d grabbed my ticket early, so entry was free, though door prices can be a bit steep compared to other nearby clubs that often don’t charge. Downstairs, Yah Yah’s has a bunch of cute booths where people were sitting, and a bar at the back that was running drink specials until 11pm. Since we arrived around 10.30pm, my friend and I took advantage of the $5 WAP shots! The DJ was spinning some solid rave tracks, and the dance floor filled up gradually as the night went on, with plenty of people jumping up on stage to dance. On either side of the back bar are stairs leading up to a lounge area with more booths, a heart shaped photo spot, and a small photo booth where my friends and I took a few cute pictures later in the night. A few more stairs lead up to the toilets, where a staff member was keeping an eye out to make sure everything stayed chill. There’s also another upstairs performance space, but it wasn’t open which was a bit odd for an event night, though it might’ve just been because the crowd wasn’t large enough to fill both floors. I ducked out midway through the night to head to Sircuit and came back once it closed since Yah Yah’s stays open later. The drinks were good, and the staff were all lovely. They were selling light up rave sticks earlier in the night, which sadly sold out before we arrived. I managed to snag one later when people ditched them, though most of them fell apart by the end of the night. Overall, Yah Yah’s was a really fun time. The venue itself is cool, the energy’s great once it fills up, and I’d love to go back on a busier night when the upstairs space is open.

Wow how is this place only 3.8 stars?! Well, forget all those bad reviews, this is the only one you need to read. The experience was flawless from start to finish. Launched into the night with a smile on my dial when the kind security guard let us skip the long queue cos it was my birthday. Legend. Next we went straight to the bar where I ordered the most tantalising starburst slushie drink; just delicious. My straw also had adequate diameter requiring minimal effort to consume my drink which is a necessity when you’re focusing on slaying the dance floor. Then I had to pee… and here we met Tara, the best toilet security guard ever. Kind and thoughtful blessing us with quality chats but also assertive when required (remember, only 1 per stall). I propose a pay of at least 30% over 3 years. Later, we thought disaster had struck when we came again for a wee and Tara had vanished. But no fear, she was just on her break. In her place was a goddess named Alex with incredible eye shadow reminding me of a rainbow unicorn. She is by far the best manager out of the 3; she fanned my armpits AND upper lip for no extra charge. Talk about value for money! I request Alex also receives a pay rise, she is open to negotiations. Overall, 10/10 would recommend, will be coming back very soon.

Straightest gay club I've ever been to. Only plays Rihanna and the like, more than half the people are just straight girls on the Thursday gay night. Also the cloakroom system is horrendous, they send you a text message instead of just giving you a physical number, So inefficient. Cannot serve a double drink also which is wild.
