Definitely more of a hotel than a hostel. Very low attendance of events and not very social. Decent location, kitchen is large and lots of seating, and rooftop is a nice view though jacuzzi is not as nice as it looks in the photos (as is the gym). Did appreciate the 24 hour lounge room though. No luggage storage after checking out without a fee is virtually unheard of in a hostel. And they keep emphasizing “only 10$ a day after departure”— but it’s literally the same exact day you check out. Want to store your bag til 1pm? That’ll be 10$. This is a VERY basic amenity especially considering they already have a luggage room that you can use for check in. There’s a ton of other hostels in CBD that are just as central if not more and half the cost and more social— pick one of those. Or stay at the much more social hostel in St. Kilda. Don’t shell out a premium for a hotel-like experience without the perks of a hotel (private room, bathroom, luggage storage, avoiding school groups, clean facilities…). Oh and not having to wait in a line in the hallway for a shower in the evening! Wifi also cuts out a lot and doesnt reach rooftop.
One of the best hostels I have stayed in thus far! This is not a party hostel, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this is not the place, but it’s still very easy to make friends. The rooms are very spacious, you get your own shelf with 2 plugs, a night lamp and every bed has curtains for privacy. The locker is also HUGE but remember to bring your own lock. The common areas are great too! Multiple bathrooms on each floor and the hostel even has a cinema room, gym and a lounge. The kitchen is very big and generally well equipped for everyday cooking. Common areas are cleaned very often as well. You also get a huge rooftop on the 8th floor with a jacuzzi you can use any time. The staff are super nice, always very helpful and put on great events every week. Spent 3 weeks here and honestly nothing to complain about. Thank you and would happily come back!
Easily one of the best hostels I have stayed in. Rooms were always neat and tidy, and bathrooms and kitchen areas were always very clean as well. Really loved all the events hosted, too. Located just at the edge of the CBD, but still very easy to travel around from here. Also they have an amazing terrace that should not be missed
Honestly, nothing to complain about ,the bathroom and bed were spotless, the soundproofing was great, everything was well maintained daily, and they had different activities every day. The only downside was my roommate’s snoring kept me up at night, but that’s hardly the hotel’s fault. I’d definitely come back with earplugs.
Still in the midst of my stay, but wanted to give a shout out to Atsu, who really hooked this old gal up. I thought my well into 30s self could still handle a dorm style room for over a week (from USA primarily to see the AO), after the first night I asked about an upgrade/options and Atsu went above and beyond in finding a private room while keeping it affordable. I’ve had great sleeps here and overall everything is well kept. My Aussie friend was impressed with the location and it really is accessible with walking or tram to all the things.
