This place wasn’t even in my itinerary and I expect nothing when coming this place. This shrine, luckily I must said, destroys all my doubt and ended up being one of the most memorable moment of my visit on Melbourne. I came on the evening and it was raining that day. Not even that could hinder my excitement when I found this place is huge, built with care and respect, and completely free. Outerside was amazing, there was some statue, obelisk, and endless flame. Inside thw shrine you could find the crypt filled with memorabilia and facts about Australia, especially what role Victoria state had in the country’s military history. They even had father and son statue to symbolize the two generations of Victorian people sacrifice in World War 1 and 2. In the upper deck you can find some scripture located in the center of the floor. You also could climb up the ladder to go to rooftop area to see incredible view of Melbourne. I could spend an entire day to read all the information card and watch all the videos and never get bored. Tl;dr, Shrine of Remembrance were, for me, a touching monument for the fallen and how the sacrifice they made were never be forgotten. This place is amazing. Easily recommended for anyone plan to visit Melbourne

Wow I’m so glad I found this as a spot to visit! Absolutely stunning! The best view of the city from up in the balcony but also just a beautiful piece I’d architecture to admire. So much info inside about soldiers old and new and the different wars we’ve fought in. Very moving to see.

The Shrine of Remembrance is a breathtakingly beautiful memorial, especially during dusk or dawn. Once, I even had to literally force myself to tear away from here during a particularly magnificent sunset or risk missing my flight hahah! Whenever I visit the memorial, I never fail to feel a deep sense of awe but a quiet sense of loss too, remembering the sacrifices made by all parties caused by the heartbreaking turmoil of war. Climbing up the stairs to the top provides a splendid view of Melbourne’s stunning landscape of skyscrapers. Will highly recommend visiting at sunrise or sunset for the best view and experience.

What a beautiful monument to the fallen. The Shrine truly is a special place, preserving the memory of those who have been lost to us. It’s a truly fantastic place to visit. There is real soul in the design of the building that you can only feel in its presence. Very wonderful that is it open to the public as a free educational experience, but it is definitely worth spending the extra money to invest in a private tour. Our guide, Pri, was a wealth of knowledge. She really took her time to delve into the intricacies of the building - the history, the architecture, the people, the meaning etc. so much information I would not have had or appreciated in the same way unless I had had Pri there to guide me. Thank you Pri! It was a very moving experience and I am glad to have had it. Lest we forget.

The Shrine of Remembrance is a powerful and meaningful historical site. I have visited twice, and it remains just as impressive each time. The building offers rich insight into the history of Australia’s armed forces, while the view from the top is truly stunning and adds a calm, reflective atmosphere. A place I continue to appreciate and highly recommend.
