The F1 Wagyu selection is ultimately the best — the steaks were incredibly tender and not chewy at all, especially when paired with their Wagyu fat-cooked potatoes! Honestly, this combo is to die for 🤍✨ The starters were amazing too! Maria, our server, was very helpful and constantly checked on us throughout the night, which we truly appreciated. She made sure we were well taken care of during our dinner. My husband, who celebrated his birthday there, absolutely loved the mango-flavored craft beer! They also surprised us with a small birthday cake, which we appreciated so much. WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK HERE SOON 🤍✨
Extremely disappointing service for a restaurant with such high accolades. As a food content creator who frequently visits Melbourne’s top-tier establishments, the lack of hospitality here was surprising. The most frustrating part was how the main course was handled. We ordered the $490 Pure Black F1 Wagyu Rib Eye on the Bone (1kg). When the steak was brought to the table, the staff immediately started portioning it onto two plates without asking or even pausing for a second. For a signature dish of this caliber and price, it is standard practice to present the whole cut to the guests first. By the time we realized what was happening, the "moment" was gone. This felt rushed and completely ignored the presentation aspect of the meal. Additionally, we were never served the bread and butter, while every other table around us enjoyed theirs. Being skipped for such a basic service makes you feel like you're being treated differently. Regarding the food, the F1 Wagyu is undeniably high quality but extremely rich. While the first few bites are delicious, the heavy marbling becomes overwhelming and greasy very quickly. This portion is definitely meant for 3-4 people; I would not recommend it for a party of two as it becomes quite a struggle to finish. With a final bill of over $650, we expected a much higher level of attention to detail. Great ingredients cannot compensate for such average and inconsistent service.
Amelie and Jake were amazing hosts, along with all of the other wait staff. We even received recommendations about where to go in Melbourne — fantastic service! We dined at rockpool twice over the AO finals weekend. Each time the wine pairings were immaculate with our steaks, and the Wagyu beef potatoes were incredible. We ordered the top Wagyu F1 cuts and they were worth every penny. They also provided a dairy free pavlova which was incredible. Would highly recommend to anyone, thank you for your wonderful food and service.
One of the best steak house I’ve ever tried. Dry-aged meat, pair with best choices of wine. Fresh crunchy lobster meat. Nice view and ambience. Need to book first.
Amazing food and great service from our waiter Minh. The wagyu rump steak was fantastic. We will definitely be back again. Thank you Rockpool for a great Mothers Day evening ❤️
