I mean… no brainer it's good. It's three hats. We held this one for our first proper date night since having a baby, so figured we'd do it in style. Food was unreal. All Australian, all thoughtful, and every course felt like it actually meant something rather than being clever for the sake of it. Hard to pick a favourite but the whole thing just landed. Atmosphere inside is decent. Feels a little dated honestly, but I'm ok with that — kinda adds to the charm. Sommelier was a highlight too. Genuinely good guy, knew his stuff without making you feel like you didn't. This is as good as you'd expect for three hats. Albeit very, very expensive — consider this a heads up on the wallet damage. Worth it for a special one. Just do it.
Attica, led by Chef Ben and his incredible team, delivers one of the most unforgettable Australian fine dining experiences. After watching his Chef’s Table episode on Netflix, I was already inspired, but actually experiencing the tasting menu felt like a true privilege. Every detail is thoughtfully crafted, and the atmosphere is just as special as the food. From the warm welcome at the door to the energy flowing through the kitchen, “yes” the kitchen, we could see where the magic happening, feels immersive and unique. One course is even served in a magical outdoor mural space, which left me completely speechless. An extraordinary experience from start to finish.
An outstanding meal, more so by the Chefs Table event, the highest quality food, drinks and service. Getting to the end, the dessert blew me away at how good it was. So good you wonder when will I have another dessert that good again, maybe months or years. Upon passing this on, absolutely amazed as just as we were leaving that they brought it out again to share. Just amazing. Such beautiful staff and service throughout.
Firstly the staff were super knowledgeable about all the elements of the food they were serving. Each bring their own unique character to the restaurant. Secondly the food was well balanced and attention to detail was exceptional. The whole meal was the most unique and memorable experience of my existence. I would truly recommend anyone who would like to experience their take on fine dining and a true food lover, artist would especially appreciate this opportunity. Lastly the ingredients they use focuses on traditional Indigenous Australian food that they have been using for centuries these foods I can almost guarantee 99% of Australians have not tried and I think it is important that we recognise our original ingredients and culture as this is a big part of our identity. I would highly recommend reading the Chef's Memoir: Use for Obsession as this will connect with what you're eating and understand of their story.
What an unforgettable experience at @atticamelbourne. Every course felt like a love letter to Australian produce — delicate, deeply considered, and bursting with flavour. The way they hero local ingredients, especially those inspired by and honouring First Nations food traditions, is truly something special. The service was nothing short of impeccable — warm, intuitive, and deeply passionate. You can feel how much heart goes into every plate, every pairing, every story shared across the table. It’s more than just dining; it’s storytelling through food. A celebration of Australia — its land, its people, its spirit. Absolutely world-class.
