We were super confused at the ordering format, but it all worked out and the food was awesome! 1 - Get a numbered ticket in front of the chopping station and wait for your number to be called 2 - When it's your turn, go up and tell them how much you want, 0.5kg per person is enough. They give you whatever pieces and weigh it, they put it on a tray with bread and salt seasoning. Prices was 260MAD/kg, pay when you get your tray. 3 - Go into the adjacent restaurant store front to the right and find a table. There are 4 floors and many tables. 4 - When seating, flag down a server and order other accompanying food like salads, fries, drinks, or other entrees. The lamb was awesome, super tender and fatty. The pieces we got were bone + fat + meat + skin, probably 50% of we got wasn't edible (bone and fat), but the edible parts were great. You would expect this, they just chop up the carcass in front of you and you get what you get. The inside of the restaurant was hectic and alive, a great experience. Wash your hands on the 3rd floor.
You must love this place. Best lamb of Marrakech. You buy first the lamb and then you‘re heading to the rooftop to enjoy it. Don’t forget to order a tea and take sanitizing stuff with you. Eat with your hands. It’s getting messy but oh, sooo tasty!
Read about this place and decided to try it out after visiting the main square. Honestly, it's pretty good. We sat at the store front just around the corner on the Souk street. Sat first, ordered the lamb and the beef tagina. Lamb had to be ordered separately. Quite a unique experience to order the lamb by weight and also by which part. If you don't have a preference, go for the mix (they also have specific parts like shoulder, ribs, legs,, etc). 0.5kg was enough for two people. It comes with cumin and bread. The meat was super tender and juicy. You can see the fire pit on weekdays after 7pm Only deducting a star because we were extra charged at the end....but it was fixed because we noticed the extra amount.
Unbelievable last meal in Marrakesh. Beautifully soft lamb with really tasty salt on the side. Some of the best food in Marrakesh. Would fully recommend to anyone travelling here. 130 MAD for a huge portion as seen in photos
We came for dinner quite late around 8-9pm after arriving to Marrakech so the meat options were limited. We ordered beef and lamb tanjia, both came delicious. Moroccan salad in general is simple, made of fresh veggies. We found the table, a person came to take our orders, we ordered things in batches because the service was quite chaotic in a way but nothing too dramatic. All in all highly recommended place for genuine Moroccan food!
