Cafe des Épices is one of the most popular spots in Marrakech, so finding a table can be difficult, especially during peak hours. That said, the waiting time is usually reasonable if you’re willing to be patient. The menu offers a wider variety of dishes than many other cafés in the Medina, making it a good option for different tastes. The prices are also quite fair considering its popularity and central location. One of its biggest highlights is the rooftop terrace, which offers beautiful views over the Medina and creates a great atmosphere, especially around sunset. The food itself is generally very good and more flavorful than at many tourist-oriented restaurants nearby. There are plenty of options to choose from, and most dishes are well-prepared and satisfying. However, service can be inconsistent. Orders can occasionally get mixed up, and food may take quite a while to arrive. Table cleanliness could also be improved, as it is not uncommon to be seated at a table that has not been properly wiped down. Despite these issues, the quality, variety, and reasonable prices make it a place that many visitors will still enjoy.
What’s more difficult to have a seat for a large group but we managed it as we came just a few minutes before way more people arrived. The selection of food is great, many options to accommodate vegetarian, pescatarian, and meat diets. The time we came it was a little bit busy, so I took a while (but not too long) to get our food, the waiters seemed to be stressed. I believe this is due to high popularity of this place. I recommend visiting this place in low business times, otherwise it could be too busy during lunch or dinner time hours.
We found out about this place on TikTok 😅 and at first we thought it might be a tourist trap, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The location is great, close to many places worth visiting, the Moroccan breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced, and the view was amazing.
Called in for some lunch during our trip to marrakech. Slight queue, but very quick service despite this. Beautiful menu and beautiful food. We ordered both the chicken and fish tagines, a lentil salad and some potato sides. Everything was beautiful! For drinks we tried the spiced coffees. Highly recommend!
Beautiful place, full of tourists but still very nice and delicious. Best mint the. The view from the terrace is stunning especially at sunset and at the moment of the call of prayer.
