We had a great overall experience at The Peninsula Manila. From arrival through departure, the staff were consistently accommodating and professional, creating a very welcoming atmosphere after a long international journey. We did run into a hiccup at check-in related to a pre-arranged request for distilled water for a CPAP machine. I had reached out weeks in advance and was advised the hotel didn’t have it on hand, but that they would ensure it was available upon arrival. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and after 24 hours of travel and arriving around midnight, we were too exhausted to go out and find it ourselves. That’s where Jeff, a bellhop, truly made a difference. Without hesitation, he stepped in, went out to a nearby store he knew was still open, and personally bought a small bottle of distilled water for us. His kindness and initiative turned what could have been a frustrating moment into a very memorable example of exceptional service. We were incredibly grateful for his help and couldn’t thank him enough. Outside of that initial issue, the rest of the stay was excellent. The hotel itself is beautiful, well-run, and maintains a high standard of service throughout. Overall, despite the small mishap, the experience was fantastic and the staff truly stood out.

I had such a wonderful time here that it is hard to put into words! The Peninsula Manila is beautiful. My bedroom was a total sanctuary—super spacious, cozy, and perfect for relaxing after a long day. The views from the hotel are stunning and make you feel like you are in a luxurious tropical oasis right in the middle of Makati.Another massive highlight was the food. Every single meal was spectacular and full of flavor. What really ties it all together is the world-class service. If you are looking for a perfect place to stay, this is it. I will definitely be back!

Afternoon tea at The Lobby in The Peninsula Manila was such a lovely experience. The setting is elegant and relaxing, perfect for a slow afternoon. The tea set was beautifully presented with a great balance of sweet and savory items. The pastries were delicate and not overly sweet, while the savory bites—especially the mini sandwiches—were well done and satisfying. The scones were warm, soft, and paired nicely with cream and jam. Service was attentive and professional, making the whole experience feel premium without being too formal. Overall, a great spot for a refined afternoon tea in Manila. Would definitely come back again 🤍

I often use the coffee shop and halo-halo services at this hotel. However, almost all of the staff pretend not to see guests even when they clearly do. I seriously question whether the staff training here is worth the price and reputation of a 5-star hotel. I asked one employee twice to bring an extra chair, and both times I was refused. Even when staff bring something, there is no greeting, no communication, and they constantly avoid eye contact. They always look tired, annoyed, and unwilling to work. I already raised this issue once before, and a hotel manager apologized to me at that time, but nothing has improved since then. This situation is extremely unpleasant. Staff members with this kind of attitude are ruining the image of your hotel. Also, this happened before as well — would you please look at this memo? Can you even read the handwriting? I asked for the Wi-Fi password, and the staff wrote it down in handwriting that was impossible to understand. I was honestly shocked. Charging guests full premium prices while providing this level of service is unacceptable. I am very disappointed and offended by this experience.

I’ve been staying at The Peninsula Manila about 2–3 times a month during Emirates layovers, and it has been consistently excellent every single time. There’s a certain ease to the place—the atmosphere is calm, elegant, and genuinely comfortable. It may not be the most modern in design, but that’s part of its charm. It offers a kind of timeless luxury that feels effortless rather than showy. What truly stands out is the service. The staff carry themselves with a natural warmth and professionalism that never feels forced. It reminds me of international standards, but with a more personal and refined touch. Having stayed in many hotels, this remains the most comfortable for me. Everything just feels right—from the ambiance to the way you’re taken care of. It’s one of those places you keep coming back to, and it never disappoints.
