The Velvet hotel is a very well furnished place with a gorgeous bathroom. The bed was comfy and the linens felt very fresh. It is noisy, but it’s on Canal Street so that is to be expected. I think ear plugs in the room could be a nice addition but not essential. The illy coffee machine was very tasty and a nice change from usual rubbish hotel coffee. The only couple of pointers are the TV doesn’t load/ work properly. I think it’s because the wifi is overall not good. It probably just needs a booster but we wanted to chill out in the morning and it was a bit of a faff. Nut allergy handling was pretty good, but just needed tightening. I did state I had an allergy but there were still bags of peanuts in our room when we arrived. At breakfast, I was served a nut free selection but they still delivered crunchy nut in for my partner and another pastry which was possibly nut free but we couldn’t tell. I would say 9/10 people with allergies do not want any of that product in the room. Clarification at time of checking in would support this. Overall though we had a lovely stay and thank staff for being so welcoming :)

Great hotel. Well decorated. Comfy beds. Good amenities. Great location. Prosecco on arrival was a nice touch. We were at the back if the hotel and it was quite noisy from the street so maybe ask to be at the front.

Great hotel Highly recommend to anyone visiting the staff in the hotel were amazing all the way thru till the end no complaints everyone was welcoming and nice we also attended on a day when the protests were happening and the women on reception reassured us that it was safe and all organised. They would always greet us with smiles and also responded to our request really quick like providing a fan to cool our room and show us how to open the windows. Overall our stay was lovely we had a clean room and all the staff were amazing the only way the hotel could improve is maybe better sound proofing from the outside as there was some bass we could hear from music from nearby events and clubs but i understand it’s out of the control of the staff.

Stayed twice for work, rooms were unique and beautifully decorated. Staff at the front desk were polite and helpful. Both rooms have had spacious baths and lovely amenities. Definitely happy to come again!

Never coming back here, had noise and bass issues all night on our first stay. We left at midnight on the same day and they are refusing to give us a 100% refund. They also continued to say there was no noise issues when a customer in reception also said it is too loud. Also, take a look at the reviews, a lot of people have had noise issues. They also respond to people’s reviews and my comments to Virgin Experience stating it’s city noise yet they haven’t soundproofed their new rooms so I’d say the issue falls with Velvet Hotel.
