OMG the food is so lovely here. I reckon I've been to many different Indian restaurants or curry houses before in Manchester but I would say this little hidden canteen-like curry house might be my favourite now. The chicken curry and tikka masala I had were so tasty and unique, and the spinach and vegs were nice as well with rice. All of these including a can were just £8.50 absolutely worth it.

Incredible experience from start to finish!! The food was so delicious and the portions were generous. The keema reminded me of my mom’s keema! I was definitely expecting to spend at least 20-30 GBP but only spent about 8 GBP for rice and 3 curries. The staff is the sweetest and even came by my table and said “do you want some more?” No other restaurant in the world would ever ask if you want a little more. Also the toppings station with chopped onions, cilantro, and chilies - OMG! This was such a classic touch. Any Bengali/Indian household will always have this at dinner parties, as well as asking if you want a little more, so all of these little things made me feel like I was at my auntie’s house, just having dinner. Super cozy and hospitable. 10/10, no notes.

We were attracted by the relatively high review score (4.7 after more than 2000 reviews). What makes it worthwhile is that you'll have a generous portion of decent food for a ridiculously reasonable price. The selection varies daily, but that great price for the rice and three (curries) is constant. All the curries we tried were decent but not outstanding, but the price cannot be beat. Listening to the patrons and the warm greetings of the staff, it is obvious that many diners make it a regular stop. Michelin star? Nope. But a filling meal at an unmatched price - count me in. Amazing hearty Pakistani food that is unbelievable value for money. You can go for a rice + 3 curry situation of various types. Samosas are lovely as well as the naans. Service is very friendly too. No frills, go up and get what you want and pay at the end. The curries aren’t the best curries ever but for what you pay they are good and the portions are huge. I definitely recommend and would come back here again.

This & That Restaurant in Manchester is truly a hidden gem, as it's tucked away from the busy main areas. The concept is simple, you choose your dishes and the staff serve the curries you want. The food is filling and satisfying. Even though the restaurant looks simple, almost like a canteen, it's always busy with customers who clearly enjoy the food and keep coming back because the menu suits their taste well. The staff are friendly and always smiling, which adds to the pleasant dining experience. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for good, affordable food 🍲. Highly recommend😉
