Went to see the show Eric and Ern (based on Morecambe & Wise) here yesterday. The theatre itself was very intimate (the smallest one of the 2) which was ideal for this extremely funny show... The cast were very true lookalikes and extremely funny. The audience loved it. Olivia, the additional singer, was fabulous with an amazing voice. We love this theatre, as the seats are extremely comfy, the staff are amazing, being so polite, helpful and courteous. We will definitely be back and can't recommend both the theatre and this production enough
My family with two girls 13, 8 visited today. We heard about the Lowry 360 experience on FB. It was fabulous, well I am biased as I have quite a collection of prints and a cross stitch picture by my mum! The burnden park football picture ( now the site of our local Asda) was the one the museum brought to life in the projector room. Reportedly bought by them for £7.8m recently. The only trick I think the museum missed was the 1977 tribute pop song nicknamed the matchstalk cats and dogs.
The Media city in Manchester offers some great opportunities fir visitors with the fantastic i Imperial war museum and the Lowry gallery and theatre. If you enjoy art, the Lowry gallery is a great celebration of one of England's best artist L S Lowry, with many of his famous works. I really enjoyed it..
I absolutely loved my visit to the Lowry. The 360 degree experience of Lowry's iconic painting 'Going to the Match' was a particular highlight. For 6 minutes you are transported into a Saturday afternoon in 1950s Bolton. My visit also included a tour of the gallery which the knowledgeable guide highlighted key works and events in Lowry's life which helped to gain a further insight into his world. Additionaly, all the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful, making the experience all the more enjoyable. As entry was free, I felt I needed to make a voluntary contribution to ensure this significant cultural collection is enjoyed for future generations.
Came here to see a show. Walked as was staying near by but I know parking was close by. Staff were friendly and very helpful, signage was easy to understand so could locate where I needed to go. Would come here again
