This is a tricky one because a lot is good, some is not but it's still a nice hotel. Depends on what you want. You get what you pay for, just not how you might assume. The location ist great, the hotel is nice. I found the staff a bit off (not unfriendly, just off) but loved my room. They offer a lot of free stuff like water on the room, hot beverages throughout the day, prosecco and nibbles in the evening, cookies & mild at night, breakfast delivered to the room. And that is great, but it is also a needed compensation for other things: 1. Water pressure and heat of the showers are limited 2. it's in a lively area and if you are noise sensitive this hotel is not for you 3. no elevator 4. the internet was not working for me for the whole stay. These are small things but you need to be aware of them before you book. It's a nice hotel and evenly priced with nice amenities which make up for other things.
Enjoyed my stay at Cow Hollow. Pros: excellent service/friendly & attentive staff, beautifully done boutique space, complimentary treats/drinks and great location. Cons: no lift, small rooms & inconsistent Wi-Fi. Lovely hotel with beautiful decor and great ambience. Rooms are small but nicely done. Bed was a good size with comfy bedding. Bathroom was fine as well for the rooms being on the tighter side. Location is walkable with access to lots of good eats. Staff were really kind and super helpful. Couldn't have asked for nicer staff really. As the rooms are quite small, there is no place other than the bed to situate your suitcase if you're needing to get into it. This was fine for a short stay but would reconsider if you’re planning a stay that’s longer than a few days. Had an issue with the hot water which was attended fairly quickly (again staff is top-notch!) but unfortunately it seemed like an ongoing problem so may need to be addressed in a more permanent manner. Wi-Fi was an issue – was only able to connect one of my devices and only for a couple of hours. Ended up tethering to our mobiles and using data which is less than ideal. All in all would recommend for a short stay.
A perfect little weekend getaway at Cow Hollow Hotel! From the moment we arrived, everything felt cosy, stylish, and so welcoming. The rooms were beautifully designed, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and all the little touches made the stay feel extra special. The location is ideal for exploring Manchester, yet the hotel still feels like a peaceful escape from the city. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay, already looking forward to coming back!
I really don’t understand the good reviews. This place is easily the worse hotel I’ve been to in my life. Small, noisy all night, uncomfortable bed, weak shower pressure, not even hot water… Keys to open the door 😂 literally some dungeon. God knows how you people got 4 stars. I’m not even a person to review, but honestly a shocking experience. Genuinely felt like I was sleeping in some medieval cubicle. Ah yes “Breakfast to your door”… a 1 egg omelette. Budget place. Only good thing was the staff. Two young kids were welcoming and polite.
You will be hard pushed to find better service than you get at the Cow Hollow. All the team are lovely, very attentive and helpful and can't do enough for you. All the little extras are lovely touches, breakfast brought to your room, tea and coffee whenever you want it, prosecco and nibbles in the evening, and delicious hot chocolate and cookies brought up to your room. The rooms are very well done out and spotlessly clean, but they are a little on the small side without any real storage which was fine as a lone traveller. I'll definitely be back!
