This is an incredible hotel located in the heart of Salamanca. It’s walkable to almost everything. The service is excellent, and the staff are warm and friendly. I felt very well taken care of and feel that the price is worth it per night for the level of service that you receive. The room was spacious. The bathtub was HUGE. They even have a turn down service, left chocolates on the bedside table with fresh water, and have a convenient breakfast in bed service. They hired us a taxi for an early airport departure and ensured we were seen off with a smile. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in the Barrio de Salamanca, very convenient for shopping, dining, and easy connections to other neighborhoods in Madrid. We’ve been visiting for years and it’s always consistently good. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Love it.

The hotel is undeniably beautiful and the location is fantastic. That said, the rate per night is frankly unreasonable for the level of service, room size, and amenities. Effectively, if you stay at TOTEM, you’re paying for the location. The front desk staff weren’t unfriendly but they weren’t exactly warm or welcoming either. The room was nice but very small. I did love the view on to the beautiful quiet street below, and the bed and pillows were comfortable but there wasn’t any space to open up my luggage really. It was nice enough but at this price point it’s hard to explain all these factors together. Up in San Sebastián right after my stay in Madrid, I spent the same amount on double the amount of nights with a much better room in a much friendlier hotel.

Wonderful stay! The hotel is located in a very elegant and quiet area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Everything was spotless, well-organized, and truly refined. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming — especially Daniel, who made the experience even better. I would definitely stay here every time I visit Madrid without a second thought!

Beautiful hotel, but frankly at this price point, another level of service is expected. Grumpy and unhelpful staff at reception.
