Been to many tea time in great hotels and this one needs work. Staff was polite but table was not accessorized properly to serve tea. Unique savory finger sandwiches were well done. Noisy room, too pedestrian.
Had been looking forward to finally visiting Madrid and staying at the only collaboration between MO and Ritz in the world. We’ve stayed at the Ritz a few times, but this was our first stay with MO. The hotel exceeded our expectations, especially the rooms, restaurants, and service. The rooms were extremely comfortable with beautiful views over the Prado. The design is impeccable and so thoughtful. We really enjoyed Pictura, Jardin del Ritz and garden court area - the cocktails and duck paella were awesome! Probably the best part of the stay was the service. It significantly exceeded expectations and felt genuine - especially the team in Pictura, at breakfast and the doorman (absolutely exceptional!). Thank you to absolutely all of them! My partner and I got engaged, and I realised it was pre-communicated when our breakfast waitress congratulated us. The one negative, especially given this was our first impression of a MO, is beyond this comment from the waitress there was no gesture to make the stay a little more special - just a small touch like flowers in the room or something would have completed the experience. This is an important element when selecting a high end hotel for a special occasion and creates a lasting impression, and potential lifelong loyalty. In any event, this was a great hotel overall and we will probably be back
We paid $1000++ per night for our room type. Upon checking in, we were told by the assistant manager we’re getting an upgrade for booking through Amex. Unfortunately we felt the opposite and felt cheated. We were given the most horrible room, including the location. There was constant noise from the floor above. There were chairs moving around, and we could hear constant noises throughout the day and in the night I don’t think this was fair to us given the fact we were there to celebrate our milestone anniversary. Our room was also front facing with no views whatsoever. There was constant traffic movement & we could not enjoy looking out or leave the curtains open! There was no privacy. I would not consider this an upgrade. I am definitely going to be speaking to Amex about this incident as well because it has left a bad taste in my mouth. To make things worse, we weren’t given any sweet treat for our 25th wedding anniversary celebration. They just had some lame flower petals on the bed. No dessert at dinner or any recognition from the staff celebrating our anniversary. There wasn’t any personal touch and it all felt very off. Definitely didn’t expect this from MO. This was our first time and may be the last. We will stick to Four Seasons where we’ve never been disappointed.
The hard products are well done. Service can be a mixed bag. But I have to give credit to the doormen for their wonderful service and the reception for explaining to me about the facilities. Restaurant for a lack of better word seems chaotic from my observation. But nonetheless it was still ok. No issues with the food. I can't remember the people who served me but they did a wonderful job in making my stay comfortable.
The hotel deserves high praise for its thoughtful design and well-equipped facilities. What truly stood out, however, was the smart home system—the ability to control everything in the room via a central remote was a delightful surprise, a feature still quite rare in Europe. The furniture and linens were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful stay. But the most touching moment came from the service: as a Chinese guest, I was moved to find a little horse drawn on the mirror, a warm and personal gesture that made me feel truly welcomed. Special thanks to the talented artist George for this wonderful surprise.
