The top picks were the calamari and Lenguado Evaristo — both incredibly fresh and cooked perfectly. The calamari had a great chew, and the lenguado was some of the best fish I’ve had in Madrid! The croqueta and steak tartare were decent. We asked for the tartare to be mildly spicy when the waiter offered, but it came out quite strong. The grilled octopus was a bit overcooked and felt underwhelming, the dish would benefit from more thoughtful preparation beyond just a side of garlic mayo. For dessert, both the cheesecake and chocolate cake were enjoyable, but I’d recommend choosing just one. The chocolate cake is quite rich and sweet, which can overpower the more delicate flavor of the cheesecake if you have both. The atmosphere and ambiance were lovely! Service was functional but lacked warmth — we didn’t feel particularly welcomed by the staff’s attitude.
20 minutes out of Madrid and you’re suddenly somewhere else. Filandón feels like stepping into a countryside house where everything is slower and tastes better. Fresh produce, fresh fish, simple dishes done right. It is the perfect plan for a big Sunday lunch that turns into hours of wine or beers, or a quiet little tête à tête when you need a breather from the city. We started with the burrata salad, super fresh and creamy with that perfect balance of richness and lightness. Then the leeks, soft, slightly charred, and full of that sweet depth that makes such a simple vegetable feel special. For the fish, the monkfish, firm, meaty, and perfectly cooked, finished with garlic and chilli that bring out all its flavour without overpowering it. Simple, but exactly how it should be. And the cheesecake is a must, creamy, light, and the kind you keep going back to even when you are already full. A very traditional Spanish spot, full of flavour, and one to keep in mind when you want something a little special. Follow @sipsandtripswithmaggie on IG for more!🐟🌈
Very cozy and nice ambience, every time we go. I like to go to Filandon whenever we need to get out of the city’s crowd. I prefer red meat grill there but they also have very tasty fish options.
Beautiful restaurant just outside Madrid (about 25 minutes by taxi). The food is excellent, with a lovely outdoor terrace if the weather’s nice, and a comfortable indoor space with air conditioning. Service was a bit slow but very courteous. The grill is a highlight. Great spot for corporate events, large groups, or family meals. Prices are reasonable. Definitely worth the trip!
The atmosphere was amazing that was both cozy and elegant. The octopus is definitely a must try. The paella was better the first time we came however not very satisfactory this time. However the soufflé was extremely delicious, gone in two seconds. The staff was very helpful and since it is far away from the center there is a very calm atmosphere. Overall if you are in madrid and looking for a fine-dining experience Filandon is definitely a place where you should check out
