Mostly a pretty good hostel. Clean enough, good atmosphere. Definitely a party vibe. A few opportunities for improvement (just some small things that seem to have been overlooked): -The under-bed luggage storage areas seem to be a bit small. This prevents a full size suitcase from being able to be stored. Which results in guest's suitcases being left around the room, which is both insecure and tend to get in the way. Looking at the design of the cabinets, it seems that some space was wasted in both the x and y directions. -There isn't any place in the bunks to store your misc items while your sleeping. Cell phone, eye glasses, ear plugs, a book, etc. Most hostels have some sort of shelf or basket or pouch or something. -The power plugs in the bunks are somewhat awkwardly placed. They are next to the mattress, down about the same position as where your sleeping. I found myself bumping into the charger several times on the night. -They provide hand towels in the room bathroom areas (which is great). But there aren't any hooks for the towels. So they end up just piling up around the sink area. -They have very serious warnings about labeling your food in the refrigerators. But there aren't any labels or pens to be found anywhere. -They have a well labeled utensil/silverware drawer in the kitchen...which is completely empty.
Amazing hostel! Highly recommend the breakfast and dinner at Limbo in the lobby at least once. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Facilities were well maintained and clean!
Bastardo Hostel was super clean, the staff was super friendly and the rooms were very comfortable. The only thing missing for me was curtains on the bunk beds for extra privacy. Thanks so much, and I’d absolutely stay here again!!!
Great location! The hostel has two elevators, a well-equipped kitchen with a microwave, and a fridge with a clear labeling system to store your food. There’s also a washing machine and dryer available for a small fee. We stayed here mainly to visit a friend, so we didn’t join the hostel activities, but there’s plenty to do. A bar, boardgames, a rooftop terrace where you can hang out and meet other travelers, … Our 6-bed dorm was well designed, offering a decent amount of privacy even with multiple people. However, since you have to walk past other bunks to reach the bathroom, adding a curtain to each bed would be a nice touch. The beds were clean, though it looked like the area beside the mattresses hadn’t been vacuumed recently. As always in hostels, your experience depends on your roommates ours included two girls who came in around 3 a.m. and weren’t exactly quiet. Maybe a reminder about being respectful at night would help (though that should be common sense). You have to pay extra for towels in shared rooms and you need a lock for the lockers. Bringing your own towel and lock can save you a bit of money. They don’t communicated this, so that’s a minor… The staff were friendly and available 24/7. Overall, if you’re looking for a lively hostel with lots of activities and a social atmosphere, Bastardo Hostel is a great choice. If you prefer peace and quiet, you might want to book a private room instead.
One of the best "Boutique-and-Events"-style hostals, you'll ever visit. Friendly staff, Service-minded attitude, Cool atmosphere; everything one could ask for. Would have been nice with a simple curtain for the beds. Their excuse/explanation was that "the design of the rooms made this unnecessary"... Well, a simple curtain is still a good - and cheap - idea, for people who enjoy a sense of privacy. Keep up the good work - and see u again! :)
