The mortuary temple of Ramesses III, famous for its exceptionally deep wall reliefs and remarkably preserved ceiling paint.

Good to know
Far less crowded than Karnak or Hatshepsut, offering a much more peaceful experience.

The Medinet Habu, the mortuary temple of Ramesses III was one of the most impressive and underrated sites we visited. A quick heads-up - the ticket office isn’t located at the entrance. You can either buy tickets online or walk to the ticket office, which is a bit of a distance away and slightly off-putting, especially in the heat. That said, once inside, it’s absolutely worth it. The temple is incredibly immersive with elaborate wall paintings that are still vividly intact. The level of preservation is amazing....you really get a sense of how vibrant it must have looked thousands of years ago. One of the best parts is that it’s not overly touristy, so you can explore at your own pace without big crowds. The scale of the temple is huge, with massive columns and grand courtyards that make it feel truly awe-inspiring. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Luxor. One downside was the café. We paid 1000 EGP for two ice creams and two bottled drinks, which felt like a complete rip-off... especially since there were no prices listed anywhere. Best to avoid or bring your own snacks and drinks. Overall, Medinet Habu is a hidden gem rich in detail, beautifully preserved, and far less crowded than other major sites.

Pretty good place to visit - smaller than other temples but still worth the visit. Tickets can only be bought online so make sure you have data plan or pre- buy your ticket before coming here. Staff are friendly, temple is not big, enough for an hour or so. Impressive as always.

This temple is really fantastic. The archaeological site is still well maintained. The decorations of the walls and columns are wonderful. The colors are still vibrant.

Fantastic well preserved temple. Went early in the morning and skipped all the crowds. Well worth having a private guide to explain the history of the temple. Beautiful courtyards and statues. Some of the original colours are still present and gives us annidea of how bright the temple would habe been at some point

Great Temple to visit, some beautiful colours still left on the pillars in the shade and ceilings. Go early and beat the tourist rush to get some fantastic photos. Highly recommend to see i West Bank, Luxor.
