Very nice place but be careful at the guards when they take you to the back or behind fences. They will show you how it looks from the other side , will take some photos and then will ask for bakshish. It could be costly photo as one guy took $20 for couple of photos and a vide. Not too bad for 3min side hustle 🤣

Came with a tour, so not sure about ticket buying in advance, but definitely worth the visit for the pylons alone! So impressive too wander amongst the giant pylons/columns and admire the carvings, hieroglyphics and colour still on some. Also hearing about how the built and transported the huge stone blocks and columns was also amazing!

Possibly the best temple we toured. Massive scale. Endless history and exhaustive detail however as with EVERY single temple we have visited the most exquisite carvings are defaced and marred. Our tour guide mentioned they were all defaced by “Christians” but it is SO FRUSTRATING that a group of bigots decided to deface the most beautiful designs of antiquity. I wish I could have seen it before it was clumsily and universally disgraced. So sad what history shows. Disgusting. I can’t imagine put a hammer and chisel to anything so beautiful. Rant over. I loved it. Columns and engravings that eclipsed every other temple we visited. I only wish I could’ve seen it before it hit disgraced with a mallet and chisel. Super crowded but did feel as oppressive due to the massive acreage the temple occupies.

Absolutely amazing, so much history, towering columns with hieroglyphics carved into them, still in good condition. It's a massive area so there's lots to see, I found this temple on par with the pyramids or maybe even better, it's definitely a must see!

During the day this site is not overly crowded although some specific aspects of it can become backed up as tours stop at specific areas for review. Still, a site well worth visiting and in my opinion you can easily spend 2 to 3 hours here (and much more if you are willing to explore details).
