Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 This is my absolute favorite spot for grilled lobster; this place is on my rotation and it can be my final meal!! I love their grilled lobster that much!! They have impeccable service, delicious food; flavorful and seasoned perfectly on everything. Today, I was starstruck when I finally got to meet the star of the show, reknowned Chef Govind Armstrong, who personally served me my half grilled lobster!! He has a great personality and it was wonderful talking to him. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here, but my favorites are: Grilled lobster, which comes with garlic butter and lemon wedge. When I do come with a friend, we share a whole grilled lobster, but when I come solo, I usually get their half grilled lobster. I also get their crab fried rice and calamari. It all goes well together and it's delicious!! Also, the view is spectacular, you can see the Santa Monica pier and the beach. Come and try them out, like the Rockstar Eater, Steven Cha. When AI suggested The Lobster, my initial reaction was it will probably feel like a tourist trap and the food will disappoint. I’m so glad my gut reaction was wrong. Admittedly, there is a “touristy” vibe because of its location and proximity to the Pier and crowds of people. But the food was excellent-well prepared and layers of flavors within each dish. The service was friendly and enhanced the experience. The view of the ocean and sunset was not as spectacular as we hoped. Sadly, there was a person hunched over on the street below experiencing a tranq-induced altered state.

The view here is breathtaking and it was a great spot to celebrate an 80th birthday. One of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had- so light and fresh. The oysters were also delicious. Unfortunately the steak (which is $72!!!) was overcooked and when it was sent back they took 20+ minutes to make another one and it was literally exactly the same if not worse. The photo shows the second ‘medium rare’ steak. By the time the second steak came everyone else was finished with their meals so we didn’t send it back a third time and they only took half of the steak off the bill. Not a huge deal but expected a bit better from such an expensive restaurant.

We had been once before years ago my husband and I on one of our first dates. We went back last night to celebrate my mom’s anniversary of passing and be near the ocean. They without requesting sat us in a corner seat with a beautiful sunset view. The food was amazing we had yellowfin for an app (delicious), west coast lobster 🦞 and he crab fried rice and Brussels sprouts. All items were amazing! Our waitress CJ (Courtney) suggested we do the cheese bread which was great too! Then as we finished we passed on dessert but CJ having connected with us on the reason we came to be there brought us cheese cake with a candle to celebrate my mom. Sometimes it’s the small moments with a stranger that matter. She was a very personable, authentic and attentive host to us! We loved the experience but that’s largely due to CJ. Would recommend especially for a sunset dinner at the pier.
