My experience was great. The front desk staff were all incredible and went above and beyond when it came to service. Especially Eddie he was absolutely amazing, positive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy both his job and helping people. He was a phenomenal example of what a true service mentality looks like, and he was consistent all four days of my stay. Not once did he break character or let the quality of service slip. It’s rare to come across someone who brings that level of energy, professionalism, and authenticity every single interaction.

The room was Immaculate and the staff was great. I did not try out the gym over the pool I was there just due to being very busy. There is a mini fridge in the room, it is noteworthy that the only microwave seems to be down in the lobby . The room service was delicious and quick . I think the only thing to note is the very hard water. If you're visiting the area from far away like I was, the water in the region is very hard. You may want to bring a portable hard water filter or treatment for your hair or your skin if you're sensitive like me- the water coats the hair and skin causing breakouts and breakage. Not the hotels fault but worth knowing.

Booked this place last minute through hotels.com on a Wednesday I think it was just under 300 bucks. So it has a modern vibe to it. Parking was nice and easy (had to pay extra), good sized garage. It's right next to food (nothing amazing, but super close and it gets the job done). Staff were friendly. Room was okay, a little behind on maintenance.... The bathroom floor trim was falling apart etc. The AC worked good. TV had issues with signal (that was strange). It's kind of far from the beach... They have bikes you can rent for a fee. It's bikable for sure. I wouldn't plan on walking to the beach from there especially with kids. The pool is like a very large hot tub. Not really for any kids over 10. And for adults it's basically a sit down hot tub but pool temp water. The connected hot tub worked great. About a 15-20 dollar waymo/Uber to Santa Monica pier (not during peak times).

Very friendly and attentive staff. I arrived before check-in time and was able to move into my room. The furnishings, style, and comfort were really great. Super clean and cozy. Bike rental was also excellent to enjoy Venice Beach to Santa Monica Pier by bike. The hotel is in a great location, very close to the canals and Abbot Kinney Boulevard. There are lots of lovely shops and restaurants here.

From the moment I arrived at The Kinney, I knew this wasn’t going to feel like just another hotel check-in. The front desk gentleman was incredibly friendly and genuinely caring—you could feel that his warmth wasn’t scripted. It immediately set the tone for the entire stay and reflected the authentic, thoughtful culture The Kinney has clearly put into hiring their team. That same intention is woven throughout the hotel’s design. The spaces feel curated with heart—from hammocks perfect for unwinding, to sleek marble ping pong tables that add a playful, communal vibe. There’s even a cozy, family-friendly area centered around a fireplace, which becomes especially magical when the temperature drops at night. It feels like a place designed not just to stay, but to be. The room itself was pure joy. The fun, comic-themed design added personality without feeling overdone, and the two affirmations pinned to the bathroom wall instantly put a smile on my face—such a small but meaningful touch. The pillow-top bed was incredibly comfortable and helped me sink into a deep, restorative sleep almost immediately. One of my favorite parts of the stay was the location. My daily walks were a straight, scenic 25-minute stroll to the Venice Beach Pier, perfectly timed to catch the sunset—an absolute highlight and a reminder of why this area is so special. I truly couldn’t recommend The Kinney enough. If you’re looking for a hotel with soul, thoughtful design, and people who genuinely care, this is the place. You’ve got to check it out.
