A funky, colorful beachside hotel located steps from the sand, featuring the best rooftop sunset view in Venice.

This is a great little hotel. The rooms are clean with a boutique feel and the beds are very comfortable. It is very close to Venice beach and surrounded by dining and nightlife options. The atmosphere can be boisterous on the weekends due to the rooftop bar/restaurant. The staff is very courteous and helpful, especially Mario the valet. He was extremely efficient and friendly and I had the utmost confidence in handing him my key. Overall, we had an excellent stay. 10/10 would stay again. 😊
If you’re visiting Venice Beach or Santa Monica, this hotel is an absolute gem. The location truly can’t be beat—it’s just half a block from the boardwalk and beach. Traveling with our 2-year-old made us especially appreciate being so close to the park, basketball courts, and skate park. The service was exceptional from start to finish. A special shoutout to Miguel at the front desk, who made check-in smooth and welcoming—he treated us like family. The doorman and valet consistently greeted us with a smile and opened the door each time we arrived. Housekeeping was also wonderful and incredibly kind to our little one. Some standout perks included complimentary beach essentials like towels, chairs, toys, and even access to surfboards and bikes. The rooftop restaurant is perfect for catching the sunset while enjoying drinks and snacks—they even went out of their way to make a custom lemonade for our son. Parking is available for just $10, which is a great bonus. One of the best parts of our stay was not needing a car—everything from coffee shops to donuts, ice cream, and restaurants is within a one-block radius. We had originally considered staying at Shutters on the Beach, but opted for this hotel due to the price—and we have zero regrets. It’s an incredible value for the location and level of service. We’ll absolutely be returning and recommending it to friends and family!
Not really the greatest hotel to stay at. The pros: -location is amazing. Right in the beach and close to restaurants, bars, coffee shops and stores -the room is clean and everything works fine. Bed is comfortable -the check inn and check out was quick The cons: -they charge a $40 USD resort fee for a hotel that is absolutely not a resort. No pool, no amenities, terrible elevator, and only a small coffee shop/ restaurant - they list as amenities the rooftop but if you try to get a drink or table they tell you is independent from the hotel and is impossible to get in - they offer complimentary continental breakfast which is extremely disappointing. Coffee, yogurt, muffins and a few fruits. That’s it, don’t expect even a toasted bread -the worst part is the elevator, there’s only one for 7 floors and guests share it with rooftop customers, which during weekends gets extremely crowded. We complained at the front desk and they offered us to take the stairs- for a room in the 6th floor - the rooms are clean but feel cheap Don’t stay here if you’re looking for a nice boutique hotel with great amenities and service. Stay if you only value location without expecting much
Aussie Family of 4, had the best time. Mario in Valet was the best, always had a smile and great service and always up for a chat. The reception staff were amazing and so helpful! Great place to stay to visit Venice!! The line on a Friday and Saturday for rooftop bar can get busy too so make sure you get up there!
I wished I read the reviews here before I book, so here you go another review. Noise! Noise! If you stay on the north side of the property, that’s facing all the bars and restaurants, which blasted their music until 1:30 AM. After all the reviews, the hotel has not learned to put noise isolating glass screen doors. You can call 877-ASK-LAPD to complain the noise. For your entertainment, the video is taking with the screen door shut. can you tell whose song is playing? Other than that…is it worth $300 to get a room with a view of the trash dumpsters in front of the balcony? Or that slight sewer smell in the room? They are charging what they can simply because there aren’t many great options in Venice Beach. The noise isn’t really the hotel’s fault. But they are getting 3 stars because there were been so many reviews on this, and their response is always oh thank you blah blah blah and we will look into it.
