Our stay at The Zetter Clerkenwell was truly delightful, with the hotel’s charming ambience, tasteful décor and the fireplace lending an enchanting atmosphere. The room felt wonderfully cosy yet spacious (for London), with a lovely view over the quiet little square, ensuring an excellent night’s sleep. Although the bathroom heating was not functioning and ventilation seemed limited, everything else—from the superb bedding to the impeccable service—was spot on. Breakfast was on the pricier side, but undeniably delicious, and the staff were exceptionally warm and affable throughout. A splendid stay overall, and wonderfully convenient when arriving from St Pancras on the Eurostar.
Fabulous boutique hotel in the crossover area of London West End and London City. Old fashioned decor and a Parlour that serves snacks and drinks with a massive real fireplace. Also enjoyed some festive live singing. Highly recommended for a romantic winter break. Attentive staff and lots of attention to detail. Private dinning also available.
5* rooms, 2* service. We recently stayed for the weekend we got married, staying in their nicest room and it was the poorest check in experience I've ever had. Don't take the risk if this is a particularly special occasion you're looking to celebrate here. We were left waiting for 10 minutes with no communication in the bar area, were asked for upfront payment the value of which was then read out to the room full of people plus my wife to be, we were told to go to the first floor to be greeted by 3 identical white doors with no labelling on, the things we'd asked to be in the room after completing their "pre-check in" form weren't there, the ironing board was broken when it turned up, and nobody apart from one of the junior bar staff seemed to think this was a problem. A couple who returned to the hotel just before us later that evening seemed to have their own set of issues they were sharing with management, so I don't think isolated to us. The team provided flowers and champagne in our room the next day, which was appreciated but the damage had been done and nobody spoke to us directly about what had happened. If you're spending £800 a night, the room cannot just be beautiful - the experience is ruined if no customer service. The management have not responded to my email on this, so it appears they don't care to improve either. I hope this helps some people avoid their own bad experience.
A wonderful location off the main road so the room was quiet. The Parlour, their bar, is excellent and very popular with locals. Best to book a table in advance. Bartenders know their stuff. And the breakfast menu is really good (excellent streaky bacon for the Yanks)
Felt like we found a hidden gem in The Zetter Clerkenwell - perfect spot for us (couple, early 30s who were looking for a convenient place to explore all of London by bus/tube). Hotel has a quirky, historic, charming feel with a quaint but positively eclectic lobby/bar/cafe. Our Deluxe Double room was more spacious than expected and looked out on the picturesque St. James Sq. Will definitely be back!
