The location is very well connected to other parts of the city, easy commute to all the touristic places. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, not a lot of space to place your things tho - maybe an extra side table or a small shelf would be good. We loved the common areas and all the events happening at the hostel every night. Trivia night was so much fun! There is a laundry room and an ironing board, good wifi and space to work on your laptop as well! Defo will come back!!
WORST SLEEP QUALITY in a hostel! It was so bad and unorganized. I booked this hostel over another one(which was almost 30% cheaper and better location) only because of the curtains on the bed. But the curtains of my bed was not working properly and was detached. I put some of my stuff on my bed (top bunk bed) and asked them to fix the curtains. They offered me another bed and they said we switch at night when I’m back. I came back and asked for switch but the bed was taken already! So I went to sleep on my bed and saw some stranger clothes are on my bed and my hairbrush is on the floor despite my items were there and that was the bed assigned to me! I put them on the chair and slept. At 4am somebody shake my feet and wake me up and claim that’s his bed and argue about it! Basically ruined my sleep totally and the receptionist response was ONLY SAYING SORRY!!! Basically I chose the hostel to sleep and have privacy with curtains and none of them worked!!!! The bed is also short and not very comfortable. Too much chit-chat noise from the next room at midnight and the walls are so thin. Checkin and Checkout is pretty easy. Showers and Toilet are clean. The internet is not the best but it’s ok. There is social room with a coffee machine (you need to pay 2£ for hot drinks) and a TV. It’s 8-10 minutes walk to the tube and a bit far from city center. I strongly suggest trying some other places if you CARE about SLEEP QUALITY.
Great location, next to the tube, in a quiet area. Dorms are confortable, and a lot of facilities are available (kitchen, laundry, storage). Great value for the price. However if you book a female only dorm, you will have access to unisex showers. For the basement rooms the showers/toilets are shared with the bar, so it can be a little unconfortable. Also there seems to be some people "living" in the hostel (2 olders women in our 8 bed room spend all the days in the dorm, hanging clothes, keeping food, complaining when someone was talking) so it is not really a place to make encounters like some others youth hostels if that's what you are looking for !
I stayed in a female dorm and it was pretty good. There were loads of bathrooms so if yours was being cleaned you could just go to another level. There's an elevator at the end of the hall that works nicely and also a staircase leading into the lobby. The beds were nice, each having outlets and curtains for privacy. There were lockers under the bed and little shelves in the bed. The staff were lovely and accommodating, would recommend.
Had a lovely one night stay at the lodge, beautiful building and great decor. Breakfast was great, buffet style of fresh pastries, cereal, boiled eggs, yoghurt, ham and cheese, hot drinks or juice. Just what I needed before my journey home. I loved the cosy little bar area and seating, would be really nice in the summer to be able to sit outside. I stayed in the 4 bed girls room with ensuite, beds were comfy, I was warm enough, liked the curtains for privacy but there's not much room to do anything else and the bathroom is tiny! Also had to go find a chair so I could sit and do my hair - great that there's a dryer and big mirror in the room. Sat in the lounge and had a drink before I left just to enjoy the last half hour if my stay. I will definitely be back and have recommended to friends already. All the staff I interacted with were super friendly especially the guy on reception Sat night 21st Feb and the other member of staff in the bar in Sunday morning. I also enjoyed the music playing, great playlist. Everywhere was very clean and tidy. Really close to the tube station and right next to the high street if you need anything from the shops!
